How do you make Bimber traditionally?

Hi fellow Poloniaphiles,

Just wondering if any of you know how to make a real, traditional bimber?

My dad used to make it but refuses to tell me how because he thinks i will drink too much if i have bimber lying around. I already brew my own beer, which is better than store purchased beer. bBut would like to take it up a notch and start distilling.

I am looking for nice, clear and concise instructions on making bimber.

I would love a recipe as well if you have got any......

Bimber is basically a Polish version of moonshine....or "bathtub" liquor.

It's not fair though, I want to make bimber and i have no idea how, other than the basics of disillation. I know it is a simple process but i would like to hear form you guys about any receipes. Or is bimber an old-school thing which no one makes anymore?

oh yeah, my Grandma made that here, I dont have a recipe, but I do have stories!
they got busted during prohibition era.

my uncle used to help her, and my dad, she would sell candy (confections) by
day, and Liqior by night. lol

but, cops busted them, and it was all dumped right in front of them.

was told they knew the purple gang, or sold to emm. "not sure how true that one
is as it is a story among family members"

anyway, yep, bathtub was what she used.

so... what i seem to rememebr being told is that you get the spirit... and then add some fruit... and leave it for 6 weeks... then you take the fruit out and leave it for another 6 weeks for some reason... maybe with extra sugar... and then you put fruit back in and its all good... so good in fact that i cant really remember what they were telling me... and i got confused at the second 6 week period...

regardless. It seems that your family contributed to American history Pat:)
Most of good legal stuff was started as moonshine initially.
