Help in finding a recipe for a type of Polish Cheesecake

My grandmother always made cheesecake for our Christmas dinner. She would use farmers cheese. I believe that all of the ingredients were mixed together and the crust formed in the pan on its own. I know that there was grated lemon rind as well.

It is similar to the recipes that I've seen for sernik, but the crust was more like a cake and not a crust, and the cheese was smoother. She did not put potatoes in the recipe.

Please help, she did not write this one down and it went to her grave with her. My sister and I are left to try other recipes and cannot find one that is the same.

Thank you to anyone that can help us out.

It's not only the cheese itself, but how long you work it. The longer the smoother (of course)

i'd use sour cream instead of the taters or possibly cheese cream.

my recipe includes cream cheese and ricotta as polish farm cheese is impossible to find outside of Chicago and other pole centers.
