I used to make delicious sandwiches with such a good ham, but I don't know it's name. Could you tell me what's your favorite polish ham and pictures. So I could try those ;)

I'm not sure there is Walmart in new york city, but they have plenty of polish Delis on 2nd Ave. :) Lots of choices of ham.

My ham looked just like it. There are a lot of Polish stores around my house ;) Maybe I should go and buy all of them hehe. I've never been at Walmarts, but I heard from Paris Hilton it's a place where they sell walls. Is that true? LOLjk

a little hard to tell but it kind of looks like the canadian bacon. if it was somewhat short and wide slices - no fat, then that is what it is.

(Hi, Krysia)

Hi Eurola :)
They don't need a stupid walmart in New York.
Here in Wisconsin we don't get any closer to something Polish than that.

About 90 miles from GB. But haven't found any Polish stores. Milwaukee has one I found and a few Polish restaurants. There used to be more there, bu t they were taken over by the Mexicans.

Doesn't "ham" in Polish mean bastard or something like that?

I love my mother-in-laws home smoked ham that is prepared around Christmas and Easter in the smokery besides their house :O)

it's cham [but of course in Polish "ch" is pronounced like "h"]
it means something like an arrogant bastard, in the past it meant rather someone from the lowest levels of the society hierarchy (usually a peasant)

Food was one of the things that drew me in in the first place. Especially the cold meats.
How can anyone not like it?

Some of them say I'm part Polish now

Well, you are what you eat.

I'll be doing the next stage of my smoker-construction project tomorrow.
I'll be hassling people for recipes by the summer, then all round to mine for quality meat products.
No, jesteśjedyny, not that kind of meat product. Tsk tsk!

JJ, I didn't know they measured ham by length, they actually measure it by decagrams here, I was taken aback. The old gestures were whipped out, must've looked a bit stupid. I just get it by the slice, 7 plastrów prosze seems to do the trick

Krakus ham

Delicious...when made traditionally. There's also Polish chopped ham which is great. Polish food has got to be a gift from God. When you can eat a slice of cold lunch meat and a slice of bread and enjoy yourself, you know you've found something worthwhile.
