FLAKI (TRIPE) OUT OF A JAR?

While no great fan of industrially processed or deli food, I must admit that Flaki Zamojskie (bottled tripe) is quite nice. It tastes almsot like the kind babcia used to make. Naturally you can jazz it up with extra parpika, marjoram and a few dashes of Tabasco. Has anyone tried them?

I quite like it though I seldom eat it. In 4 years, only 3 times in Poland have I eaten tripe.

I'll be the one to say "oh no it isn't" then. ;)

Yech, makes me feel ill thinking about it... :)

Well, some ingredients of haggis are banned in the States, hardly inspires confidence.

Tripe is a nice dish. Here, shredded/cut up before cooking.

Serving suggestion.

Everyone has their own tastes but it's not for me...no matter how you dress it up. ;)

They say tastes change every 7 years. I used to hate flaki too, when one day a dozen years ago, after a strenuous work out, I felt I could eat a horse. So I ate flaki and it was delicious.

You might still change your mind/taste.... How long ago was the last major change???

Flaki is a spicy and soft offering, can't say no to that.

Changes happen. I hated mushrooms as a kid but I can't get enough of them now.

Yes, I've heard of that before. I suppose it could be true. I never used to eat mushrooms but now they are in everything I eat (almost).

At the grand old age of ** (cough) I would say...two or three years ago when I really started to like more spicy foods. I'm not holding out any hopes for flaki though. ;)

A fellow mushroom fan. Hail the shrooms ;)

Spicy food, now you're talkin. I adore Asian spice. The food is good too ;)
