If I were in Warsaw, where might I find a purveyor or fine cheeses?

Sorry to intrude Osioł, I can't answer ur question directly but I'm also a cheese lover and can help u out in a general way about cheeses in Poland. The selection is very impressive. Nabiał w polsce jest pyszny (dairy in Poland is tasty).

It was a few years ago I visited Warsaw properly, but I wasn't so excited about cheese back then. It was an odd time of year as well. One day I might visit again. But it's more likely I'd be going to some other part of Poland, so I'd have to start another thread asking about cheese-shops in whatever area I do decide to go to.

I do think there is a certain forum member who needs to know this information, but hasn't got round to asking (yet).

Dziewczyno owcy is correct but very stiff and weird sounding to some. Goat cheese is oscypek. It's very salty. Not bad fried but not good on the gut

While I'm not an expert, I've never seen the sheep cheese very far from Zakopane.

it's not that easy - try Piotr i Pawel or Alma for the best selections.

Goat is koza, chevre is French for goat I think.

Related: Cheese Shop in Warsaw

Actually it is Konstancin in Stara Papierna. There is a brand new cheese shop with loads of imported Irish, Dutch and other cheeses. I hope this doesn't bust because it is a great concept and lots of interesting cheeses.

if you're a cheese fan, try also La Fromagerie at ul. Burakowska 5/7 - they have a great selection of cheeses, including proper British cheddar and Stilton.
