Hello all,

So... I have been looking at some Polish food, i must say it looks very nice,

My plan is to be able to cook dishes like Bigos and gołąbki (apparently not so easy)

Can someone please tell me maybe a Polish Dish that is rather easy to make,

Also maybe someone knows some good learning resource,

Thank you for your time

Regards
Adam

Kotlety schabowe of course!:) It is pork chop, very tasty and we eat it mostly with mash potatoes and sauerkraut:) Then what else....Rosół -chicken-vegetable soup with noodles:)

Maybe here you'll find something interesting...skwierzyna.net/learn_polish.htm

Homemade pierogies are my favorite!! You can look up many recipes to make these. They are very easy but, time consuming.
My favorite are potato and cheese or loaded potato.
The best thing about them is when you make a batch, you can always freeze the rest for later!

Gołąbki has never been difficult for me to make. However, I usually do ground meat because I prefer it over pork.

Also, have you ever made kiełbasa? I love fresh kiełbasa, but it's pretty hard to find in the States. I'm from Pittsburgh and you could easily find it there, however, any other place (except Chicago) it's no where to be found. I order mine online.

kiełbasa

the UK, I bet there is no chance of me finding it here.

You have to be kidding me LOL.

I looked at your profile to see where in the UK you are and that area has lots of places to go to buy it.

Even Tesco and many other large supermarkets stock it now.

Lots of Polish shops in the area as well.........

Happy eating.

Fresh (not smoked) kielbasa should be easy to find in most large cities in the east and midwest. I live in the Detroit area of Michigan, and I can find it in nearly all the grocery stores as well as butcher shops. Now, as to the quality and taste, well, that may be something else. Look for ethnic butchers. Some have counters in small(er) grocery stores.

Happy Hunting!

nah, just go to any polish 'hood/area

and his statement is kind of on but not really.. polish food is kind of hard to find but if one looks, there are plenty of choices. chicago, cleves, philly, baltimore, NYC, hartorfd, boston, geen bay, milwaukee, detroit, etc. have large polish communities.. no problem there at all finding fresh polish food products.
