Wrong attribution of quote

Admin - there has been some sort of mix up:
In the Thread entitled: Jewish love towards Poles a comment made by isthatu is quoted as having been made by me.
Please take a look at z_darius's post #129 in that thread - the wrongly attributed quote is right at the top.
Then take a look at isthatu's post #114 and you will see that it is he and not I who made that comment!
How did this come about?
I wouldn't generally mind but some of the posts here on the Forum are so rabid that I'd rather they go under the name of their rightful author.

Yes,and in my earlier posts I have pointed out that the UK has been ashamed of that stance since about 1941/42 when the world fully realised the fate of europes jews

No - Omniba never wrote this - this is isthatu from post #114. How did this come about Admin, that my name was attached to someone else's comment?

You can highlight any text on a page, then click any quote button and hey presto! You've just put words into someone else's mouth.

Are you a member of the Admin - if not then you know what you can do.

Does that mean that anyone can attribute quotes to whoever they please? What's the sense in that?

cry us a river, ok?

That's a misquote. What would Julie London say?

Sometimes it is worth pointing these things out if something can be done about it.
Imagine having some of noimmigration's vomit being quoted as your own, for example.

omniba.. choke on it dude.

osiol, i know man.. i have seen it many times on here.. these things get burried pretty quick.. and anybody with half a brain that is reading a thread should be able to recall the real poster.

The automatic quote function is for the benefit of the users. If someone doesn't know who he/she is quoting, then it's not really worth reading the post. An alternative way would be to completely remove the poster's name, but then it would take much more time to try to figure out who was the quoted poster.

Ps. You need to register if you want to post in this section.
