Request for translation deleted?

I posted an e-mail I need translated...came back within an hour, and it was gone! Deleted! Posted it again, made sure it was there,it was.came back...Gone!

Tell me why...
here is the e-mail

You posted several new topics and they did not follow the topic title creation rules at all. We don't want users to read "Translation please", "Please translate", "Polish to English", "Short translation", "Help" etc. all over again.

Please check polishforums.com/thread-title.html and you may try again.

I was just checking the Trash Can section and was wondering why some posts that ask for translations are in there? I would think if someone is asking for help with translation
their post would show up in that section instead of in the Trash Can.

I'm still confused even after reading the link you provided..for instance
Sarah posted 1/17/07
Could someone please translate:
Nie moge sie docekac Ciebie..
Many Thanks x

What is wrong with the post that it was put into Trash Can? Has this question been
asked before by this person?

I'm sorry for all the questions. I'm trying to learn how this site works.

Thank You for info.

The wrong is the title of the thread.

one possible explanation could be that admin has taken offence with their posted titles and has binned them...

admin has taken offence with their posted titles

Admin doesn't take personal offense. :) Just trying to make sure the user experience is good. We don't think reading the same topic titles would provide such.

For example:

Translation
Please translate
Translate to English
Translation to Polish
Translation Help
Polish to English
Help translate
Polish translation

are way too general (both for the translator and the reader) and don't describe the topic.

Same here:

Message translation
SMS translation
Text translation

It should be obvious the users can only provide translations of texts between English and Polish, so why repeat that all over again..

perhaps umbrage would have been a more appropriate word... :)

If those titles are too general...what should the titles read?

For instance if I wanted to post a topic and wanted a recipe translated from Polish into
English..What would my title read??

For those who don't have time to be a little creative, the first few words taken from the recipe will be fine.

However, the best title is unique and summarizes the content of the message in a few words. It takes a little practice, but in the end it's worth it :).

Thank You for taking the time to answer my questions. I guess I have a lot of practicing to do before I post a topic.

Sorry...I have another question about Trash Can.

How do replies get posted in Trash Can if there isn't a place to write a reply, or did
the replies get posted earlier and then the thread was put in Trash Can? Was just reading the most recent post there and it has replies...just wondering

This forum has got worse and worse i am afriad to say i left here cause you deleted all my topics and now you making tammy make more topics what a load of rubbish,

I used to love this forum and found it really interesting, learning and taking in all about the polish culture, next thing i knew i had been deleted and had users on here discriminating against me!!!

actually, the forum has got better and better... there are many more people visiting and posting in recent weeks and the topics of debate are as challenging and revealing as they ever were...

... yes, there are rules to follow... but they are actually not that restrictive and a bit of common sense and cortesy to fellow posters will get you through without trouble...

I am glad it has got better and better in your opninon and probly many others but i felt victimised on here before and shouldn't of been made to fill like that just because of a forum, i do wish all the members of the forum the best of luck in the fucture and i hope the success of the forum does grow bigger and better.

Just cut Tammy a bit of slack she is a single parent of two children, who works rubbish hours and finds it hard to make time to come on here but does when she can and although she seems to be only coming on here for translations at the moment she will be back to chat to you all on a later date, me and tammy at one point were two of the most respected members on here always talking about somthing new, obviously along with the main old members such as Krysia and Wolfie!!!

Good Luck and Good Bye x

I've been watchiing your and "tammy's" posts for quite a while and while I don't have anything against you, your and "tammys" translation requests were at times annoying, to say at least. One day she or you opened 20 new topics just because you received 20 Sms's - each went like "Hi tammy, I'm cool", "How are you"? etc. then when there was no reply for 5 minutes, you posted in the same thread something like "Please help me, I cannot wait" etc. Then you come after a while and post topic titles that make no sense (according to the rules) and are surprised it gets deleted. Shhsss.
