You go to Sent Messages - click on Resend next to the message - it tells you whether it has been read or not.

Resend next to the message

some of the "Resend" links are in italics... can't see a pattern to it really....

Click on Resend and it will tell you either:

1. The old message you are going to resend now is marked as unread in the recipient's "Inbox" folder. It will be replaced with the new one; the copy in your "Sent" folder will be replaced too.

or

2. The old message you are going to resend now is marked as read in the recipient's "Inbox" folder. The new one will be sent as a new message!
