I am excited, I have been looking for a site like this for a while. I live in a small town in the southwest part of USA, and come across very few people that know anything about Polish history or customs.
Yes, magic site - can't believe my luck in having found it :)) Got interested through playing bridge with Polish friends, but now so keen on the language that I've forgotten how to play the Polish bridge system wj05 :((
Now how come this thread has even less than 10 posts?
It's a fantastic site and we should be say more about that. It's easier, of course, to moan about something but this is the thread I prefer. PF is great. Thank you to dogiel for pointing that out because sometimes we forget all the good that this site does.
where's the link to that great website??? oh duhh, it's polishforums!
Yes, it is. And you, JustysiaS, are one of the reasons why, in my humble opinion. Dogiel, you'll meet a lot of great folks on this site (you already have, just looking over the few posts you've gotten on this thread). Ignore the losers and stick with the winners and you'll learn a lot, have fun and make friends.
yes, we have Wigilia "sorry dont know how to spell it" on Christmas eve. We try to keep the traditions as much as we can. My Grandfather was the main person who did this, but he passed away two years ago. My Grandmother is still here so we still have a link to the past. I am 3'rd or 4'th generation American depending on what side of the family you use. My grandpearnts were born in Pennsylvina and their frist language was Polish, they have been much closer to the language and traditions, then I have.
