What is your main reasons for not doing it again? You did not like Poland or you could have got a better deal somewhere else?

Personally...and everyone is different in their likes/dislikes so I am simply relaying my experience....for me it was more about the living. Jobs are jobs the world over and there is always a better deal somewhere so that is relative.

I do not like living here. I could list why but then I would only get jumped on by the uber patriots that seem to swarm looking for any bad thing said about Poland.

GO GO GO. Do it dude, no dout if you are being taken by an IT company they'll help with your relocation. It will be fun. Why not? If it all goes wrong, it wil be a lesson learnt. plus I'm sure if you are paid a decent wage your standard of living will undoubtably rise.

Fck 'em. Post it anyway as that is the whole purpose of these boards. You probably will have to qualify every negative statement you make with a positive or by saying 'of course it is also the same in other countries' etc

Its a shame we have to pre digest every opinion for the hyper-sensitive amongst us who wants these boards to be a love fest of all things Polish, but unfortunately some people are unable to deal with a concept as complicated as 'context'.

To me the most interesting posts are the ones from ex-pats living in Poland. These posts have validity and basis in fact and experience rather than guesswork so I'd love to know specific experiences you've had, positive or negative.

Id say give it ago .. f#ck it . I moved out here in the summer and its been cool. Dont get my wrong there are quite a few things that **** me off but generally im having a good time...

Plus flights are so cheap right now you can vist your fam regularly

I don't know the city at all, but I heard a lot of positive as well as negative things... now I'm curious to see what awaits me.

Ten years ago this was the place to be - all opportunity, all potential, and a challenge around every corner. Today it's just another European city, full of everything an average person might want. Shopping malls, movie theaters, clubs, bars, art exhibitions - you name it. I'm telling you - there's just no challenge in living here any more. If you want real fun, look at Uzbekistan or the Transdnester - you'll really feel alive there.

Cyg, All that stuff you mention is pretty much a 'veneer'. I think it is still very much of a challenge living here, especially once you get embroiled in running around offices, trying to sort anything out etc!

By the way why does every shopping mall have exactly the same shops?

Most of us have happily given up on sorting anything out. Adopt a Zen attitude and all your troubles just melt away. In Poland you only get in trouble if you try to overachieve. Otherwise just enjoy the veneer.

yes good scope here for IT professionals but learn some Polish that will be a big advantage
