szenoa_d 3 | - 4 Apr 2014 #1I am an English teacher currently living and working in Katowice, but hoping to move to Warsaw in September. I currently work for International House but they do not have a branch in Warsaw any more, so I would like some advice about which schools are the best and which should be avoided. I have CELTA and experience with all ages and levels. If anyone could give me some tips, it would be very much appreciated! Thanks :)

britishgirls 27 Mar 2015 #3Merged: British School Warsaw - teaching in WarsawHi all - I am looking to get a job in the british school Warsaw - anyone know anything about the school? Salary etc? Thanks
Harry 27 Mar 2015 #4I am looking to get a job in the british school WarsawHave you got UK QTS? If not, forget it.
WielkiPolak 58 | 1,024 27 Mar 2015 #5Are you sure? According tot he website it says you must have QTS to teach in England. Unless of course they ask for this in Poland, I wouldn't know.
Harry 27 Mar 2015 #6The British school in Warsaw employs qualified professionals who have experience of delivering the UK curriculum. I suppose it is possible that they might have a teacher who holds QTS in Poland and worked in the UK but I'd say that the chances of somebody who has the username 'britishgirls' holding QTS in Poland is slim.
JollyRomek 7 | 481 27 Mar 2015 #7Depends on what they are looking for. I have not dealt with British School in Warsaw but other outlets usually employ Polish teachers to teach grammar etc and native speakers for the conversational classes. For conversational you do not have to bring a teaching qualification and the hourly pay tends to be quite good. However, you won't get enough hours to make a living from it.
JollyRomek 7 | 481 27 Mar 2015 #9I am not sure I understand your comment. British School is not a language school?
Harry 27 Mar 2015 #10Correct. It is a British primary and secondary school in Warsaw teaching the UK curriculum in English.
JollyRomek 7 | 481 27 Mar 2015 #11Sorry, i thought the thread was about "British School", the language school franchise in Poland. Thanks for clarifying.
