So the Brits and often the Polish expats who now live in the UK (are you following me?) despise the Americans first and foremost, then they look down upon the rest of Europe followed by a feeling of contempt for the "real Poles" who they believe are clueless.

lol, nice line in sweeping generalisations there mate,is this a demonstration of the welcoming attitude you seek on here?

Poles by comparison mixed little

Poles mixed a lot - there's a lot of mixed Polish/Ukrainian marriages from before 1939, and keeping track of Lithuanian/Polish marriages is a waste of time. As I said - two of the greatest figures in Polish history could be claimed as at least partially Lithuanian - and that's just the ones I know about.

Heck, look at Poles today in Western Poland - the ones who were originally from there (not moved after WWII) often have Germanic last names - I know one girl who has a German last name, yet they've traced it back to the times before the partitions. And let's not forget people like the Silesians, the Bambers, Lemkos, Kashubians and more.

Sorry, but Poles are mongrels by blood, just like 99% of Europeans.

We don't have a problem with that just don't add non indigenous European blood into the melting pot, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

No matter if Poles mixed more or less - if one comes from Poland or his/her ancestors came from Poland he or she can say that she/he is Polish or has Polish roots. The same with the Irish, Italians, Chinese, Germans or whoever - they can say they have Irish, Italian, Chinese, German roots.

What is wrong with that?
Does it hurt you in any way?

We don't have a problem with that just don't add non indigenous European blood into the melting pot, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

We? You live in America and renounced your Polish citizenship, so less of the "we".

Anyway, since when does the source of the blood matter? Ah, that's right - not only do you hate Jews, but you also hate anyone non-white. Surprise, surprise - you're a bedroom brownshirt.

To know where it's located on a map is a start, I guess xD But I think you already know this since you live here ;)

Managed to get a head start on the others.

It seems like a lot of folks from the US come on here with knowledge of a couple of foods, a handful of religious traditions, and couple of words here and there, a bunch of esoteric music and dances...and a bit of a whitewashed history. I think it would do those people well to learn a bit about contemporary Poland. What it is now, not what they want it to be. Yup, that's my vote, more contemporary knowledge about day to day life over here.

Ukrainian, Lemko, Kashubian, Silesian all Slavic at least and Polish. Lithuanian although Balts are also Polish if you ask me, the German you mentioned are only different by the group they belong to but European none the less. Mongrels by blood are Yanks except for the inbreed types deep down south, though they will go extinct if they continue that sh*t.

I don't think this forum is a good source to learn about Poland. You can learn here that Polish women are cheap sluts, they shouldn't date "third worlders", Polish men are ugly, Poles have big noses and Poland is crap :)

But good luck with that lol

It would do them well to actually live here. Take PennBoy for instance - all he sees is that his family pretend to be poor farmers, not getting anything from the EU and being exploited. Of course, they're not going to tell the truth - after all, they like the expensive presents being sent from the US every year.

Ukrainian, Lemko, Kashubian, Silesian all Slavic at least and Polish.

Silesian "Slavic"? Errr.... the speakers of Schlesisch might have something to say about that! There's quite the German minority in Poland!

And Ukrainians and Lemkos are not Polish!

Lithuanian although Balts are also Polish if you ask me

Uhhh...by that measure, you could say that Poles although Slavic are also Lithuanian! They're not Polish at all!

Maybe you're seeing what you want to see? The main page has a bunch of stuff. Just change your viewing options to filter out off-topic and you'll be back in business.

You can also learn about:
the smoking ban
how to find a teaching job down south
advice for a lady moving over from the UK and wanting to teach
where the largest polish communities are in the UK
paki/polki marriage sagas
starting a private kindergarten (and about the preschooling situation in general)
staple, "favorite vodka" thread
a guy writing about living in Mazury
best pol/eng dictionary
a post about a guy getting beat up by racists
a discussion on whether poles and irish folks are related
an online polish book store in the UK that ripped a couple of people off
Polish festivals in NE
charity shops in PL
someone asking about a car part
meaning of your polish last name thread
staple "beautiful polish women" thread
how the religious establishment in poland feels about atheists
best exchange rate
question about polish citizenship
smolensk thread
is $xxx enough to live in XXX

For what it's worth, the relationship threads are usually pretty worthless imho, they seem to attract the most garbage.

What stuff do you want to see? That seems to be a pretty good start.

Silesian "Slavic"? Errr.... the speakers of Schlesisch might have something to say about that! There's quite the German minority in Poland!

Then why Silesian language is considered a Slavic language? o_O

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silesian_language

But I agree that Ukrainians and Lithuanians aren't Polish lol

how to find a teaching job down south

advice for a lady moving over from the UK and wanting to teach

Such advisory threads are useful for people who are going to live here and are looking for work. So you'll find out how to find a teaching job. Not much...

where the largest polish communities are in the UK

And what does it have to do with contemporary Poland? lol

paki/polki marriage sagas

Oh yes, terribly useful for people of Polish origin who want to know something about Poland lol

starting a private kindergarten (and about the preschooling situation in general)

So, again, starting a business and shool related topic.

staple, "favorite vodka" thread

"knowledge of a couple of foods" acha...

a guy writing about living in Mazury

Where is this thread??? :O

best pol/eng dictionary

That's useful, but still no contemporary Poland...

a discussion on whether poles and irish folks are related

lol Well, that's... um... interesting topic xD but... Contemporary Poland?

an online polish book store in the UK that ripped a couple of people off

Online Polish book store in... the UK? Contemporary Poland, anyone?

Polish festivals in NE

NE... And what about... yes...! contemporary Poland :)

someone asking about a car part

A very practical thread for someone who lives in Poland but not for someone abroad who wants to find out something about contemporary Poland ;)

meaning of your polish last name thread

Yes, that's an interesting thread for people with Polish names. But what will they learn about contemporary Poland from this thread?

staple "beautiful polish women" thread

Oh, don't get me started...

best exchange rate

Useful for someone who will go to Poland, but... does it say anything about contemporary Poland?

question about polish citizenship

Again, useful for someone who wants to get Polish citizenship, most likely an expat living in Poland or someone from outside the EU who wants to live in the EU...

The threads which can say something about Poland:

the smoking ban
a guy writing about living in Mazury
a post about a guy getting beat up by racists
charity shops in PL
how the religious establishment in poland feels about atheists
smolensk thread
is $xxx enough to live in XXX

And honestly I don't know how much this "something" is...
For example, this thread:
I got beaten and kicks in my face just cuz i dont look polish - page 6
...has been hijacked by southern and jarnowa ranting about Polish women dating "coloured" people (and they do that again and again and again in different threads...).

Maybe you're seeing what you want to see?

No, I don't think so. A lot of threads are filled with racist rants of trolls, arguments of the same members (usually Polish-American right-wingers vs. European liberals) and photos of girls in bikinis. That's how I see this forum.

If you see it in a different way... Well... As I wrote before: good luck... lol

I think you misunderstood what I meant. I just meant that people that want to identify with Poland should come to Poland and learn about Poland first hand.

As to the forum, all things Polish right? I think it follows it's mission statement pretty well.

All of those topics are related to Poland, and are more or less useful to someone (people are responding, providing input, etc).

...has been hijacked by southern and jarnowa ranting about Polish women dating "coloured" people (and do that again and again and again in different threads...).

That does indeed make one. There are quite a few "locals" that aren't too keen on interracial dating either.

There are some threads in which racists post. Sure. The majority of the threads however are not. Just go through the main page, do you feel all offended, or could you learn quite a bit about all things Poland?

What would you want the forum to be? Historical about the great triumphs of Polish kings long dead? Close down the relationship section?

The overwhelming majority is good practical advice. Unfortunately, it's not usually sensationalist enough to warrant the attention of some of our members.

Wha...?

no mixing for Poles with non whites is what i meant

We? You live in America and renounced your Polish citizenship, so less of the "we".

renounced my Polish citizneship?? haha so the new Unia Europejska Polska passport i have in my drawer is not mine? I don't recall you being born in Poland or ever becoming a citizen.

hate Jews, but you also hate anyone non-white.

We will see once your hundred thousand Chinese and Pakis come to Poland for work, how Poles are gonna welcome them LOL,bs it's normal natural human reaction to protect what is theirs and keep it that way. You think Pakis would welcome a hundred thousand Poles with open arms!? never in a million years, they'd keep them isolated, wouldn't let them date their women none of that, it's just now when it's the other way around when we're to be the burden bearers that they wanna be tolerant.

no mixing for Poles with non whites is what i meant

You'd like that, wouldn't you, you little racist?

I guess you're fine then with Poles mixing with Bosnians - even though Poles will be interbreeding with Muslims. Or is that an exception?

renounced my Polish citizneship??

Well done - you're just admitting that you lied to the Americans. Imagine lying to the country that was good enough to give you a home?

We will see once your hundred thousand Chinese and Pakis come to Poland for work, how Poles are gonna welcome them LOL

Funny thing is, you're an immigrant yourself and yet you bash others? Let's be realistic - if you stayed in Poland, you'd be cleaning my car right now - you're certainly no better than they are!

I think you misunderstood what I meant. I just meant that people that want to identify with Poland should come to Poland and learn about Poland first hand.

Yes, I misunderstood :) I thought you meant this forum lol
Still, not everybody has a possibility of living here for some time, I guess.

As to the forum, all things Polish right? I think it follows it's mission statement pretty well.

lol

There are quite a few "locals" that aren't too keen on interracial dating either.

Who?
And does it mean southern and jarnowa can hijack a thread with their ranting? I guess it does mean this here on PF.

What would you want the forum to be?

I don't want it to be anything. I don't like this place.

Historical about the great triumphs of Polish kings long dead?

You mistake me for someone else perhaps - I'm not a right-winger lol

Close down the relationship section?

No, I want to see Western men for what they really are :)

no mixing for Poles with non whites is what i meant

Yet another racist... Oh well...

Bosnians

Bosnians are white Slavs who became Muslims during the time of Turkish rule, to get them off their backs. They don't really tend to their beliefs i have two Bosnian friends, they drink eat pork don't go the mosque.

Well done - you're just admitting that you lied to the Americans. Imagine lying to the country that was good enough to give you a home?

So when the immigration officer said "keep it, that's something else" telling me they don't take your other passport let you have two citizenships, he must have not known what he was talking about LOL.

Funny thing is, you're an immigrant yourself and yet you bash others? Let's be realistic - if you stayed in Poland, you'd be cleaning my car right now - you're certainly no better than they are!

I told you some of my family in Poland is filthy rich, i'd definitely have a good job working for my uncle, i'd let you clean my toilet for dinner leftovers. Tell me why don't you tell Poles on the street how you feel, to afraid?? HAHA

And does it mean southern and jarnowa can hijack a thread with their ranting? I guess it does mean this here on PF.

It'll be cleaned eventually. Probably not right now.

I don't want it to be anything. I don't like this place.

Which begs the question....

You mistake me for someone else perhaps - I'm not a right-winger lol

Still trying to figure out what you'd want out of the forum. Not history, not practical information about everyday life, not the off topic stuff...maybe just keep it to the language & grammar section?

By giving that up and deciding to live in a new culture, would you be leaving that ethnicity?

First, you cannot "leave" an ethnicity on an individual level. It takes a generation or two before doubts can arise. That is especially clear in the context of North America where there is not such thing as "ethnically American". Obama is not one, Clinton is not one either.

There is also no such thing as "ethnic Canadians" to denote an ethnicity. In fact the term "ethnic Canadian" denotes a person with ethnic roots or ties to their countries of origin, either directly or through their parents. So Canada's Prime Minister is NOT and ethnic Canadian. The same applies to "ethnic Americans". They are in fact "plastic Americans", as opposed to those born in the US and Native Americans, aka American Indians.

If we were to accept your thesis then it would follow that a Pole living in Canada by choice is of no ethnicity at all. Is that even possible?

Oh well, may I direct you to the US Dept of State's publication "Consular Notification and Access" from July 2010 (available here): it clearly states that the bilateral convention with Poland is still in effect.

Really?
You forgot to mention that Americans, Polish or otherwise, [msz.gov.pl/Countries,whose,citizens,are,not,required,to,have,a,visa,when,entering,Poland,2347.html] do not need visas to visit Poland.

What you also "forgot" to mention from the very source you quoted is:

Poland treats nationals of other countries whom it considers Polish citizens as if they were solely Polish.

A Pole does not lose Polish citizenship by virtue of living outside Poland, not matter what oaths of "allegiance", or rather oaths of convenience they take. Let's face it, out of about 50% of naturalized Canadians only those of British Commonwealth take the so called queen seriously. And even then, only some. To others the queen is a thing of fairy tales or of the past at best.

According to the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, a Polish citizen can not lose Polish citizenship, unless at own request. Not matter how hard various foreigners try, and regardless how much they write on the matter, the bottom line is that unless an individual Polish person formally wishes otherwise, once a Pole always a Pole. And that's the law.

Persons who are not Polish citizens can certainly voice their opinions but they have zero influence on the matter. If they live and work in Poland then it is their duty to pay income and other local taxes, a part of which is used to allow Poles living abroad to vote in Polish elections. That is really appreciated.

Keep up the good job.

Still trying to figure out what you'd want out of the forum.

I already wrote - nothing.

Not history, not practical information about everyday life, not the off topic stuff...maybe just keep it to the language & grammar section?

I didn't write any of this.
You wrote that Polish-Americans should learn more about contemporary Poland, I misunderstood - I thought you meant that they should learn it from this forum, so I wrote that the stuff that is practical for expats and tourists won't say much about Poland.

About history - I thought that by writing "What would you want the forum to be? Historical about the great triumphs of Polish kings long dead?" you're implying I'm some "hurrapatriot" who'd like to see only positive posts about Poland.

I have nothing against history lol

You forgot to mention that Americans, Polish or otherwise, do not need visas to visit Poland.

Wrong. According to Schengen theory, the passport stamp *is* a visa - albeit one that's granted at the border. It's not called that, and the stamp is free - but to all practical extents, it's a 90 day visa.
