Tobster - | 10 27 Aug 2012 #31American cars just aren't up to the standard of German ones which are better built and, per engine displacement, offer much better power and economy. That's where they won't win Poland over.My Mrs friends over there recently got rid of a Hummer they'd imported on the grounds of it being a thirsty, unreliable pile of crap. They're now driving a big turbodiesel Merc. The other issue is that in Europe there are a lot of curved sections of road known as 'bends' that American cars don't reputably deal with very well.A classic big block American car will always impress visually though.

Of course America can make good quality cars, like Cadillac.
whyikit 6 | 102 27 Aug 2012 #35Not sure what Polish people think of American cars, but I was recently in america and rented a few of them. My opinion is they look good but ae terrible in every way. For instance got Chevy, nice car but the gear box was terrible, you put your foot down wait half an hour then the car just red lines all the way. Also got a Dodge Charger, nice looking but very cheap inside. To get anything to work you have have to hit it with a hammer!!
grubas 12 | 1,384 27 Aug 2012 #36There is a reason behind resale value of American cars in the US being 50%-75% of resale value of Japanese and German for comparable year/model.

pawian 221 | 23,970 24 Oct 2021 #38What do people in Poland think about American cars? They are very big with wings. And have strong engines which consume a lot of fuel.
Alien 20 | 4,732 24 Oct 2021 #40My one and only american car was ford probe II. It was a nice car, no problems over 200 tkm.
cldagy 5 | 16 28 Dec 2021 #41hi, im interested in bringing a corvette from texas to poland. could someone advise on this? any experience?
Novichok 4 | 7,357 28 Dec 2021 #42Don't. Corvette was on my shortlist lately until I read the reviews. If you already have it and like it, enjoy it.The first thing the owners complain about is the smell of gas and the leaking gas tanks.Another thing against it is the cost of registration of any car in Poland with an engine that big.
cldagy 5 | 16 28 Dec 2021 #43I am planning to use it as a rent car in poland for weddings, parties, and such. What's your take on that?
