Gift idea for something uniquely American that is difficult to find in Poland?

hahhaha = the redwood tree idea is brilliant - there is surely lack of giant redwood trees in Poland - definitely bring one as a souvenir ;) - I'm sure the US Navy leases one of their nuclear aircraft carriers to you to bring it to Gdynia (or maybe you can hire one of those giant Russian jets)

I guess I know why pawian mentioned a bison - he must have got rid of a couple of his pot plants from his balcony recently and thinks how to fill the void ;)

Depending on his age and taste etc. Any kind of sports jersey from an American team would be nice. A lot of Polish guys
like the NBA so maybe a LeBron jersey or a Nowitzki jersey he would really like. Not sure how much they run though and
how much you have to spend...

Grape jelly or jam.
Cap'n Crunch cereal.
If you send him an American football, don't forget to also buy and send him a pack of the needles you need to refill them with air :-)

they ALMOST cancelled that cereal earlier this year.....but it's back!

cereal is a good idea. I don't recall seeing Lucky Charms in Poland.

make them some chili

Chili is an excellent idea. Jars of Salsa are readily availabe, thoughout much of the US. I recall a different thread on PF. Someone from Poland was very found of Taco Bell salsa.

Ohh.. you big spender. I'd be embarrased as hell to bring food to my relatives in Poland (Unless they were fat I guess). What is it .. some damn soup kitchen? No, it's not. Bring something nice.. not a perishable item. Jesus!

I really like the sports equipment/memorabilia idea. But what for the ladies? I don't want to bring only flowers and/or candies. There's got to be something the young and old Polkis get jazzed about.

But what for the ladies?

Perfumes probably. I always use this website.. save a lot of money.

fragrancenet.com/
All this stuff is really expensive in Europe.

Hey, guys, both males and females, what do you think about a packet of American dried mushrooms as a gift? As a mushroom picker and gourmet, I would like to receive it!

when flying TO america, mushrooms are a big no no, they'd confiscate it as soon as you got there. going TO poland might be different, IDK.

i still say bring American soda. so many good sodas that you just can't get in Poland. i still recommend cans of Coke or Pepsi (it tastes completely different, something my students wouldn't believe till i actually brought it in for them to try for themselves), Mountain Dew (talk about tasting different here vs. there, WOW...), maybe Mello Yellow. Another great one to bring that i've never seen in Poland is Ginger Ale. great for upset stomach.....and mixing with whiskey!

=FUZZYWICKETS]Another great one to bring that i've never seen in Poland is Ginger Ale.

Of course it is available, by Polish producers, but it is an alien drink and Poles aren`t fond of it.

But, as a gift, a can or even a 6-pack is too cheap. I would be embarassed to offer someone a can of drink as a present. A small barrel of ginger ale might be much better.

My kids got fascinated by the animals. So, I think I would like to get a bison.

Bisons are for kids. Better get a pygmy marmoset monkey. They're smaller and can be taken as a carry-on.

Anything with this very rare tag: "made in USA" and anything uniquely american with "made in china" tag doesn't count

H,mmm, did I say it is beer? I only posted a picture of Ginger ale available in Poland. I can`t be held responsible for the producers who call it Ginger Beer.

Can of soda,WOW,what a great gift idea!I think a pack of chewing gums will be even better way to show appreciation, don't you think so?STFU dude, you are out of your element.

A bottle of decent bourbon e.g Wild Turkey or Knob Creek will be a perfect and elegant way to show appreciation and it will not offend

anybody like a can of soda would.

are you fukcing serious with that sentence.

THAT IS NOT GINGER ALE. Ginger ale is a soda made with ginger, not beer. I provided you with a link to show you what ginger ale really is. You obviously ignored it.

Crabbies make a 4% alc. ginger ale. 2 for £3.50 in my local Sainsbury's. They're also doing buy one get one free on 6 packs of Coca-cola. It's a soda not a beer if any of you are confused and think only beer comes in 6packs...
