Where could I go in Pittsburgh that has a high population of Polish-Americans?

Skokie and the area around it.


Chicago does not get hot or humid until August, typically. For the past month, we've had a lovely steady decline from the 80's into the 70's with little humidity compared to say, Maryland. It's cold as a bleep in the winter, but no place is perfect. Plus, you just learn to dress for it and pick up certain tips to get through the monthlong cold. And it's breathtakingly beautiful seeing the prairies covered in snow here.

Pittsburgh isn't exactly a tropical paradise either. We have almost the same climate except for Lake Michigan that produces its own snow during the winter.

In the summer we have a nice cool breeze that comes from the lake,,,sometimes:)

I have friends in Pittsburgh and been there several times, its not a bad place, but boring!!

It seems like every house has a Steeler Helmet as well, thats all they really have for entertainment unless you like to drink a lot.

Baltimore has just the neighborhood that you described. It was originally a mixed neighborhood occupied by Polish, German,and Irish immigrants, It is known as Canton. As the old folks died off and the kids moved into the suburbs,there was an influx of young professionals that started to move in. Old can companies were converted into condominiums on the waterfront. Where there were once merchant ships, there appeared expensive yachts owned by the Yuppies. Homes that once could be bought for $5,000.00 now cost up to $500,000.00.. Blacks could not afford the prices and were kept to a minimum.. This is one of the last desired neighborhoods left in Baltimore

oh and you forget the Isacs on way:) and plenty more every year,higher cost of flood insurance and risks of houses getting kapoot in hurricane?

Hmm, I hope you're exaggerating. The town I live in is even more boring. I'm not a drinker, and I'm not a sports fan so maybe Pittsburgh isn't a good idea.

I've been reading a lot of comments about how freaky the people are in Pittsburgh. There are mostly hipsters and freaks in their tight little cliques who are not interested in people until they know them. it's exactly what I'm trying to get away from here with the southern baptists and the bohemians/subcultures.

Haven't you seen the show Dance Moms? It's filmed in Pittsburg and all the people on it are weird.

Wow, such a shame, def not moving there haha. Never even heard of that show. Unfortunately My parents won't let cable into our house (not even if I pay them for it), so I am limited with the shows I can watch when I'm hanging out at my brother's.

I'm a type of weirdo, but a normal one. A kind of semi-weirdo without a subculture. I'm into my writing and all my little topics and hobbies I like to talk about, and I'm very detail oriented, but I want most of the things normal people want, I dress normal and have normal jobs/major. You could say I'm like an average person, just a wee bit eccentric. I like normal people much more than other weirdos though haha.
