They come with their Islamic crap like 'you are underdressed'. My wife doesn't underdress, it's just not her. The Pakistanis I knew were nice and unassuming, you just have to avoid the radicals.

See, to me, the British Empire is probably the most corrupt in the world in terms of how they treated THEIR OWN ENGLISH PEOPLE IN ENGLAND...You know, because their 'empire' was supposedly gone, they had to allow Pakis and Hindus from the former kingdom into the motherland..And the English people, long suffering and used to being led by the nose by their politicians and ruling class, have to compete with this wave of foreigners...Britain is not that big, you know...So, as Bill Clinton said 'I feel their pain'.

It's like, on a big level, the average native Brits and Poles are just pawns on the chessboard.

A lot of it depends on where they come from. Many are from villages in the middle of nowhere, so they would struggle to fit in in Karachi or Lahore, never mind in the UK. So it's no wonder that they become insular, because that's what they're used to. Just like not all Polish women are the same, not all Pakistani Muslims are the same.

Im just finishing a project and have been working on a site (yes a building site) for the past 4 months and whilst Ive worked there Ive heard the Poles who are on site speak perfect English and the ones Ive spoken to have been here for around 7 to 10 years, they're not scratching round for work (all well skilled), neither do they consider the British inferior, they work with them and respect them, they have lunch with them and they're not insular, i.e. not just mixing with Poles at break time...

Posting YouTube videos really doesnt help...it just gives a one sided view rather that what is happening in the world itself.

The UK wouldn't have 570 thousand millionaires if they were lazy lol (4th highest in world). The Poles who come to the UK are eager to work and make money, Are all Poles back home workaholics?? Far from it many choose to stay home and live on welfare or get drunk in front of stores. In every country each individual should be judged, maybe more widely who he/she hangs around, definitely not the entire nation.

Well said, I wanted to make a point, without bigging up Brits and putting down Poles...neither one is better than the other...My uncle worked in the middle east for years as an engineer so I know what its like for family to travel for work to make a better life for the family (and he paid his mortage off a lot sooner than my parents did!)..

Fantasy. Polish are here just like all the immis since the 50s. They cover the shit jobs. Irish crap shovellers and Pakistani bog washers from the 60s 70s are near or have retired. I've had my entire house refloored, replastered redecorated (twice) and repairs - cost peanuts. £50 a head per day and if the foreman takes a larger cut, less. Massive supply small demand. Some labour a plasterer I had in was about 1/4 the price I paid in the 90s. From a national economic perspective EEs migration is near inconsequential to the UK.

Still, that was pre-recession times. Without knowing there's a job waiting when they get here, they have to be a bit dim to try their luck esp with the Zloty continuing to strengthen.

Would it surprise anyone if if I told you I have spoken with a Pole who came over in 04-05 whinge about the ones coming over now just coming for the benefits. But not to worry Bulgaria and Romania will be allowed in from 2013 this time there will be restrictions

It's not going to be at all the same. Access to skilled workers only and to have private insurance. It'll be very difficult to make the argument they are stealing any jobs from our youngsters, and if they can't support themselves, they go with no support from tax-payers. There have been lessons learned.
