Is UK the new cradle of antipolonism?

Lazy people don't achieve anything

Exactly,it does make me chuckle. A vibrant econamy that has spare jobs to offer is seen as attractive to people from a 2nd world country, yet,of course the peoples of the more finacialy sccsesfull country must all be lazy hey? I mean, after all, membership of the G7 countries must prove that ,right?

What you should have said is some farmers are tight barstewards

You are of course correct Daisy,I retract any implication that ALL farmers are XYorZ.

Hey, I'm guessing we're all doing the best job we can...?

Just because the job market has gotten idle and dumbed down... doesn't mean anyone else has.

Since when was the economy a reflection of the workers? I would say it's the other way around...

Since when was the economy a reflection of the workers?

so according to you, us here in the western world are nothing but a whole bunch of underachievers and that's why we're (still comparing to others) so successful, right?

I would say it's the other way around...

yeah and that's why a smart girl like you lives here (Australia, right?) and not where you originally came from, right? C'mon, you're smarter than that.

No, according to me... prosperity is a legacy of theft, luck, conflict, brilliance and greed... (but not necessarily in that order...)

yeah and that's why a smart girl like you lives here (Australia, right?) and not where you originally came from, right? C'mon, you're smarter than that.

I come from Australia. But I forgot, you know it all...

Either way, I didn't build this country... and neither did you build yours...

and you don't mind to live among us, lucky, aggressive thieves? lol

and neither did you build yours...

well, not quite, my former generations actively helped to build it so I can claim to be a part of it too and I continue to build it now.

Wherever you live you live amongst it all...

Naive to think otherwise...

How tall are those white picket fences again???

well, not quite, my former generations actively helped to build it so I can claim to be a part of it too and I continue to build it now.

And those whose blood was sacrificed...?

Nevermind. You live in great country.. as do I, but let's not forget the far reaching effects of our privilege...

Wherever you live you live amongst it all...

poor girl, it must be a terrible feeling living among disgusting, aggressive thieves like us here. How can you take it? It must be seriously a very miserable life around people you despise so much.

Naive to think otherwise...

naive to believe that where you or your ancestors originally came from is a paradise on earth.

How tall are those white picket fences again???

yep, America is known for picket fences, lol The only problem is that you barely see them around. Not one fence in a whole wide area where I live. I wonder why? Is it because we steal so much here?

Hm, I've visited a very particular country in Europe where I've seen nothing but fences. It must be because there's no one stealing anything there, right? (naive to think otherwise?).

Wtf are you talking about GW?

naive to believe that where you or your ancestors originally came from is a paradise on earth.

We are not even on the same tangent...
The kind of world we and our ancestors created is a world in which we *all* have to live...

That's my point.

yep, America is known for picket fences, lol The only problem is that you barely see them around. Not one fence in a whole wide area where I live. I wonder why? Is it because we steal so much here?

Fantastic, congratulations... one thing I will say about America is that you have definitely managed to segregate the undesirables...

Btw, I live in the Western world as well... not every mention of it is a reflection of your neck of the woods.

Wtf are you talking about GW?

go back to your post that I replied to and you'll know what I'm talking about.

have to live...

wrong, I don't have to live here, I choose to live here and I enjoy it very much (that's my point).

you have definitely managed to segregate the undesirables...

unlike Australia which used to be a huge prison for the extremely "desired Brits" back then, right? However, it was most likely a long time before your ancestors arrived there.

Btw, I live in the Western world as well.

you're obviously not very happy about it, otherwise you wouldn't make that statement (below)

prosperity is a legacy of theft, luck, conflict, brilliance and greed.

this was your response to what I said above "I'm tired of them always calling us lazy all the time. Lazy people don't achieve anything and despite all our problems (everyone has them now), comparing to many others, we're still in a pretty good shape." (a little reminder)

So basically you're defending the point that we are lazy.

wrong, I don't have to live here, I choose to live here and I enjoy it very much (that's my point).

*sigh* I am talking about the world GW... the all of it, with all its history and the consequences of it...

unlike Australia which used to be a huge prison for the extremely "desired Brits" back then, right? However, it was most likely a long time before your ancestors arrived there.

Then why can you show me no evidence that you have any sympathy, understanding or tolerance for those who are less fortunate than you, and whose ''misfortunes'' may in many real ways be related to your fortunes...? Just an acknowledgment will do.

Britain sent prisoners to America looong before King George had them sent down here..
In many real ways you have the highest proportion of men incarcerated than any other country in the world... today.

you're obviously not very happy about it, otherwise you wouldn't make that statement (below)

Don't make assumptions... I don't see it as *us* and *them*.. I see it that we are all interconnected and segregated by circumstance... If you're lucky, you're lucky... that is all.

So this...

: prosperity is a legacy of theft, luck, conflict, brilliance and greed.

Defends this...

the point that we are lazy.

..???

How so...?

No-one's saying you are lazy... and who's ''we''???

Hey, I'm guessing we're all doing the best job we can...?

Just because the job market has gotten idle and dumbed down... doesn't mean anyone else has.

This is what I said GW. (a little reminder)
Why take it out of context and throw.. this...

so according to you, us here in the western world are nothing but a whole bunch of underachievers and that's why we're (still comparing to others) so successful, right?

at me...?

I was not referring explicitly to Americans *or* westerners... just workers. Or if you didn't know, you can find them everywhere... :)

why can you show me no evidence that you have any sympathy, understanding or tolerance for those who are less fortunate than you, and whose ''misfortunes'' may in many real ways be related to your fortunes...? Just an acknowledgment will do.

and I'll do just that by saying that we're greedy, aggressive, lucky and brilliant thieves (your words), right? C'mon.

If you're lucky, you're lucky... that is all.

so now you're saying that all it takes is luck to become wealthy. What about hard work (no matter what type of work)? Even if all you got comes from your previous generations, it doesn't matter, someone had to work hard for it in the past this way or another and it's not all just luck. You know, not everyone becomes wealthy by being an aggressive thieve even if he's extremely lucky.

In many real ways you have the highest proportion of men incarcerated than any other country in the world... today.

it's an easy task by our population of 310 mln and and by the wide variety of all kinds of different cultures here. It's much easier to keep a country clean where almost all people belong to one culture, race and religion. On one hand, the mix of all of it helped to develop this country to what it is today but when it comes to crimes, different cultures thrown in one pot, means a lot of trouble. Look at Germany, their crime rate increases constantly since they started mixing. You can't make everyone happy. Just like everything else in life, the positive has also its negative sides and the other way around.

No-one's saying you are lazy...

look what got our conversation started Ashley. I got upset by some people calling us lazy and you replied with "Since when was the economy a reflection of the workers? I would say it's the other way around..."

and then you said "prosperity is a legacy of theft, luck, conflict, brilliance and greed...". By making those comments, you were basically denying the fact that it takes an effort of the entire nation to build the wealth of one country.

This is what I said GW. (a little reminder)

but you also undeniably said what I just repeated above so I guess, it's your choice now what you're going to stick to.

Why take it out of context and throw.. this...

well, you said what you said and I replied to it. It wasn't taken out of context, it looks to me like a separate question that followed those two previous sentences (look below):

Hey, I'm guessing we're all doing the best job we can...?
Just because the job market has gotten idle and dumbed down... doesn't mean anyone else has.
Since when was the economy a reflection of the workers? I would say it's the other way around...

No, according to me... prosperity is a legacy of theft, luck, conflict, brilliance and greed... (but not necessarily in that order...)

Now please read it all above and tell me if I couldn't get a notion (since you replied to my comment about people calling us lazy) that you're basically opposing me?

and who's ''we''???

look, you've already quoted my answer to it

so according to you, us here in the western world

I was not referring explicitly to Americans *or* westerners... just workers. Or if you didn't know, you can find them everywhere... :)

OK, let's forget all this as I've already explained it to you above what got our little "exchange" started.

have a good 1

so now you're saying that all it takes is luck to become wealthy.

I guess you'll find out as soon as you've finished your education, because I'm afraid it's *all* about luck out there. I mean, you can study to increase your value on the job market, but that doesn't *always* mean you'll get noticed, or even selected after you've done a couple of job interviews. It all depends on the circumstances, how confident you'll feel at a certain point in time, how well you'll word yourself *when* it matters, etc.. It also depends on what kind of changes your country is going through, and which jobs, qualities are valued and which aren't. (And every decade or so, this *may* change significantly!)

What about hard work (no matter what type of work)?

I'd say hard work will get you somewhere in the smaller companies and factories, because then you'll have a chance people will notice you as a person and your efforts, but still.. If you *really* want to make it out there then you'll just have to start your own brand or business. (Or do something *really* amazing!) But really, there are only a few people in every country who managed to generate their own wealth from scratch, and even those who claim to be self-made got where they are with the help of other people. (With the right connections it's so much easier to play ball!) 70% of the population of any given country isn't too wealthy though, and they live pretty mediocre lives, so I'm sure you can do the math? I guess you're wealthy when you can support your own family, provide for them and give them what they need, and are still able to enjoy a holiday..

:)

P.S. I know *plenty* of people who hold multiple University degrees, and are still unemployed, so they're obviously not stupid, *or* lazy.. Call it luck, call it circumstances, call it opportunity, call it whatever you want, but not much is certain on the job market these days, that much *is* certain..

:S

So yeah, good luck.

;P

Yes it is!

No it's not. It's human nature. The United Kingdom is getting a little too overcrowded, and this obviously frustrates a lot of people. (Doh!) It has nothing to do with Polish people in particular, because I'm pretty damn sure that Hungarians or Belgians or even people from Mars would've heard the same complaints at some point. I mean, people will always want to secure their *own* future..

Yeah... but you fail to realise is that I wasn't directing *anything* at you... You came out all tears...
I don't have to defend sh1t to you. And I wasn't.

Now please read it all above and tell me if I couldn't get a notion

No. You interpreted my statement as being one implying laziness. You got it wrong. I've just had fun with you since.

Well, you know what I mean :), Not "you",just what you said,again....:)
Ive sat with the scions of rather grand families and had to hear them tell it how it is,how everyone not as succsesfull as them is simply lazy or badly motivated...................happily forgeting Paters fortune and connections in the old boys club.......

Sort of like cameron and his bint claiming to be "Middle Class"...yessssss 30 million of dads money in the Bank, the bint has a job in a stationary company who's budget range diaries go for a measly £350.oo .................................but,of course, the GBP (tm) are all lazy..............

I wasn't directing *anything* at you.

of course not and I never said you did, did I?

I don't have to defend sh1t to you. And I wasn't.

Did I tell you to defend anything? NO. The whole thing started with your reply to my comment:

I'm tired of them always calling us lazy all the time. Lazy people don't achieve anything and despite all our problems (everyone has them now), comparing to many others, we're still in a pretty good shape.

Btw, it wasn't even meant for you to begin with, I replied to isthatu, not you.

No. You interpreted my statement as being one implying laziness. You got it wrong.

well, you replied to what I said to isthatu about some people calling us lazy. Which one of us got it wrong then?

I guess

we're talking about two different things, I was talking about how countries create their wealth and I was disagreeing with people who are calling us (westerners) lazy and you're talking about what a person needs to do in life to be successful. Besides, even if we will start talking about personal careers, still it takes way more than just luck to achieve something in life.

I'd say hard work will get you somewhere in the smaller companies and factories

again, you misunderstood what Ash and I were "arguing" about. This whole thing is not about me or any particular person, it's about ... (above).

The largest anti-polonism i've heard was from the jewish/israeli expat community. Many have not lived among or met Poles, yet are fiercely hateful of Poles and anything Polish. They teach this hate from generation to generation. It's really shocking.

Incidentally, hatred for Jewish people is passed from generation to generation too. We even have several examples on this very website.
