what are ou talking about the rule that 'people can move freely within the eu' well yes i did no this, yes i disagree with it :). Exactly why we should have a referendum on the EU and also a policy for immigration that betters the country not the rest of the world :)

OK, so what you're effectively saying is that by filling positions that Brits find "below them", immigrants are NOT boosting the economy...eh?

God,please dont perpetuate this myth.....its not a case of "below them" in most cases it is a simple fact that the jobs discused are on the lower end of the minimum wage, basicaly cheep farm labour that just dont pay the morgage.Or alternativly its Companies going for a percieved cheeper option.

So then you get my point. Some Brits won't take the jobs because of the low pay, therefore deciding that they are "better than that". But why? Everyone starts somewhere...if you have a mortgage and find yourself in a "poor" situation then you can take a break from your mortgage (it'll be written in your terms somewhere) but if you've never been solvent enough for a mortgage, you'll never have been given one.

No NO NO....its not Better than anything....good greif, the farmers are paying crappy wages, often subsidisng housing...British workers with morgages to pay just cant afford to do these jobs...simple as...basicaly what your saying though is Poles are dumb enough to work for near slave labour wages...and before you think I have hidden motives,I could care less,I own my own house outright,I just happen to live very near to these farming areas just over the bordr in Lincolnshire, newsflash Polska, they dont even advertise the jobs here, instead going straight to Poland or Polish employement agencies. Please,Id like to know what your situation is,do you live in the UK,are you maybe not lucky enough to have recieved a great education etc etc,as always it isnt us lucky middle class types affected its those in the most vulnurable positons, the least mobile who are affected....

Dont get me wrong,a minority who say they cant work because of the "bl**dy Poles" maybe arnt looking hard enough, but, there is a very real case of Locals being frozen out of the job market around these parts. Again, why the automatic sympathy for "poor poles" and a nasty streak of condisension for "poor British " people?

No. If you're talking about real farmers then I know that tenant farmerin E Scotland are being paid just above minimum wage. Although they are getting houses with this (but must pay for their own houses after retirement or after leaving farming). I'm saying that British worker with mortgages will only have been given one with adequate wage so they won't be refusing low paid jobs to pay mortgage because they wouldn't have got mortgage with such a job. They may have been given a mortgage with another salary and if that's the case, a drop in salary would be considered by the lender...overall, something would be worked out. Read back huh...

basicaly what your saying though is Poles are dumb enough to work for near slave labour wages...

Don't talk your crap to me, it doesn't wash. I'm talking about people who are not stuck up, who will work to pay their way. Think about it...

Good edit after I already replied...!

Did anyone watch the Documentary. ( The Poles are coming. ) ?

I was really amused at the Dorks who when offered £6 and hour to go Picking Veg. Said F'k that. I would rather sign on.

And then in the same breath ***** about the fact that Polish people snap up the Jobs.

For some.. ( No finger pointing. )
Its easier to get up early once a fortnight.
Sign a piece of paper.. And then go back to bed.

Its nothing to do with it being beneath them.
Or being to good for it.

They simply are too happy whining to get a job.

That is par for the course in any country i guess.

It used to be Blacks.. And Pakistani's that were blamed.
Now its the Polish.
Soon it will be some other Hapless lot..

Lazy asses. Will allways find something to whine about.
Or find someone to point the finger of blame at.
Instead of finding a solution to the problem.

I can stand nails down a blackboard anyday.
But i hate Whiners.

Maybe the Brits are not such money-grabbing workaholics as some other races but maybe that's because they appreciate more important things like spending time with family and friends and quality of life.

Yeah, I know what you're saying but I live in the UK and am looking at it from my point of view here. I'm under no illusions I know that there are work-shy Poles ;)

I'm not sure why I'm being accused of being the Polish Daily Mail (I am not Polish).

Like I say, rather pathetic,if any one had written such nonsense the other way round you would be the first to whine...:)

I wouldn't throw a tantrum if someone said there were hard working Brits and slacking Poles. There are slackers everywhere, in every race, in every profession... ;)

I am starting to lose the will to live with all this immigration stuff though.. :D

I've worked with a lot of British people, and they were all hard workers.. I've been working with Polish people too, and I'm terribly sorry darling, I've met only a few who did, but overall, really they aren't working any harder than the British..

See, a foreigner on a temporary contract really has no loyalty towards the company, doesn't care that much about the country, and they know that if they get sacked today, the agency will most likely provide them another job at another company tomorrow..

Really, give a British bloke a chance in his own area, give him an honest wage, and he'll have some loyalty towards the company, will probably develop a sense of belonging in the local community, and maybe more important, will invest in local economy.. Will spend the money in local shops.. Pubs, stores, theatres, housing.. Etc.

(Where the Polish will take their wages back home.)

I don't blame the Polish, so don't get me wrong. But please, this is ridiculous. I read too much bad propaganda about British and it's becoming a bit cheap now.. I know the facts from my own (I've stopped counting, but probably had hundreds of jobs a while ago!) working experience..

The Polish can be good workers, that's true, but they aren't better (Or worse!) than British workers..

I don't blame the Polish, I can understand people want to make more money abroad, (Be honest, isn't it true people from the Ukraine do construction work in Poland because the Polish want to make more money abroad?) but I seriously dislike all this temporary work migration. I'd rather see foreign workers settling permanently and contributing to a country and building up a life than that I have to see workers who are undercutting someone else, pushing local youths off the markets etc.. Besides, temporary workers do not contribute that much except for their groceries and necessary taxes where a local worker would contribute much more..

Foreign workers will always be needed in some cases, but I do think this whole development as we can see in all of Europe is wrong. In every country, people replace their local workers for cheaper, and temporary foreign workers..

Result? Local youths get pushed off the markets, grow isolated, resort to shady bussiness and de-socialize completely. Some simply see their future taken away from them.

To think some people have the nerves to tell those youths (Myself included!) that we are the scumbags and that we are too lazy to work.. Well, go to sleep and dream on, because we don't have the luxury of your little offices, we don't have any luxury at all.. And most of us do want to work..

You know, just a normal job, something we can rely on and build a future with, not some ''you-can-work-here-for-one-day'' job.. If I feel too good for such a job? No! But seriously, ask yourself, would you hire an appartment when you know your job(s) will not last longer than a few days? Would you buy a house when you just know you'll be spending more time sitting at home trying to find a job more often than that you're bussy working?

I have a new job now. Arranged it myself. Even the official employment agency could not help me to find a new job. I mean, what's with that? Work harder? I guess some people have been hiring foreign workers for so long that they have actually forgotten about the good old enthusiasm and the quality of their local workers..

Then again, I'd take hardworking Poles over slacking Brits any day

Sorry, I guess it's obvious I disagree with you. I need to chill out, I know..

Rant over.

I dont think anyones ever accused polska doll of being impartial or a good moderator before.'fraid she seems a bit self loathing to me,doesnt seem to like "her"fellow countrymen but absoloutly adores all Poles....

Are we thinking about the same forum?

yes,Polish history and politics, but, dont look if like polska doll your under the delusion that the sun shines out of every Poles beehind.

I'm not sure why I'm being accused of being the Polish Daily Mail

Because you come out with the same sort of ill informed knee jerk garbage they do,only your targets arnt Eastern Europeans but British people, whats all that about?

I am starting to lose the will to live with all this immigration stuff though.. :D

Yes,as are many thousands of people forced out of the job market around these parts.....

Sorry, I guess it's obvious I disagree with you. I need to chill out, I know..

I gathered that ;)

Although, I'm not talking about all Brits, I am talking about those who whinge that their jobs are being stolen but who wouldn't work anyway. I am aware there are unemployed British folk who would take any job to get themselves started on the career ladder. It's not them I'm talking about at all.

I didn't say Poles work harder, I was talking about the low-paid jobs that previously weren't filled but are now filled due to Polish people. For example, my company advertise some of these low paid jobs and truly, it's not British people who are coming for the interviews...(others may advertise these posts and have many British people for interviews but that is not my experience).

:)

'fraid she seems a bit self loathing to me,doesnt seem to like "her"fellow countrymen but absoloutly adores all Poles....

Because you come out with the same sort of ill informed knee jerk garbage they do,only your targets arnt Eastern Europeans but British people, whats all that about?

Yes, I get what you're getting at. I'm not against my own countrymen but there are certain elements of our society that really make me wonder...if it came across that I dislike all Brits, that was not my intention. :)

More seriously though, if you don't see the amount of posts made by british posters moaning about the influx of Poles to the UK than you are the one that's being disilusioned here isthatu.

Today at work, the boss broke up the amazing duo of Batman & Robin. They nearly always work together. Actaully, they do very little work together, but are very funny to watch. Both of them seemed to work much harder today. Probably because Batman was showing off and the boy wonder was on his own without the usual distraction.

I bet none of you knew that Batman is Polish. Robin is English.

If you don't speak the language so well, you're more likely to just get on with working rather than just chatting. If you feel you have something to prove - olike that you are a hard worker, you just get on with it. Culturally, there is a strong work-ethic in both Polish and British cultures. Some people just get carried away by the un-work culture that also exists here. But it's not just that. There are both people who realise you have to make life for yourself and people who think that a job should just be handed to them on a plate.
