all the Brexiters who just wanted to close their borders to stop the unwanted immigration.

Only because our politicians have been too weak to take advantage of our new found freedoms.De Gaulle knew that Britain was never going to be a good member of The EU because he understood the British mentality.

Europe was not our biggest market,America was.

Nonsense, the EU accounted for more than 50% of British exports. Again, all brexit did was create trade barriers between Britain and it's market

Info from The House of Commons library;

UK exports of services to both EU and non-EU countries fell in 2020 but have grown strongly since then. In 2024, UK exports of services to the EU were 19% above their 2019 level in real terms. Exports to non-EU countries were 23% above their 2019 level.

What percentage of British exports went where? The EU was and is Britains largest market, Brexit put barriers between Britain and its largest market which may explain why their exports grew by only 19% compared with the 23% growth for the smaller proportion of its export market.
