This is an interesting story....Some people have argued it's discriminatory. I personally can't see anything wrong with it especially as it's for a one off cause! What do you think?

It's a great idea - trying to include Polish newcomers in the local community.

Even better if Polonia Warszawa gives a discount to British people :-)

I thought Bath was rather boring when I visited it. Why don't they put a roof back on the city's namesake and clean the water?

Probably because it's doing very nicely indeed without spurious rebuilding projects.
As Jane Austen said, "Who can ever be tired of Bath".

Its clearly a case of giving to receive, kind of like a restaurant having a grand opening with an all you can eat for a fiver.

They most certainly don't.

What do you think?

it might have been better to make one game free for everyone. maybe the first game of the season.

getting people interested is one thing. if the team lose by a big margin, who will bother to go to the next game.

Did you guys read comments under this news???I did and the Bath City would have to pay me to go see the game.A lot of hatred there towards Polish people.Makes me really fired up and beat the living $hit out of the first Brit I will encounter in Poland.

Why does it get you fired up? Are you mad that Poland doesn't have the monopoly on racist morons?

Yeah I am aware it wouldn't be fair to knock down with a sucker punch some possibly innocent Brit in Poland. On one hand I guess I can understand their frustration, on the other one I am Polish and right after reading this kind of stuff I really feel hatred toward Brits. But like I am saying after cooling off a bit I realize that I should not paint all of them with the same brush.

Indeed, all you'd achieve would be more attacks on Poles in the UK when word got out that a Brit had been beaten up unfairly in Poland.

But like I am saying after cooling off a bit I realize that I should not paint all of them with the same brush.

Quite honestly, the vast majority aren't like that.

These are just the ones who are blaming Poles for their own problems - before the Poles, it was "pakis", and before that, it was the Irish. No doubt the Romanians/Bulgarians will be getting the blame soon, too.

Funnily enough, it does seem in the UK that most attacks on Poles are by other Poles, not by Brits.

well thats a bit silly considering the people posting pro Polish or at least anti hate stuff,or worries that this will create hate are all British too, apart from one loony Pole banging on about 303 sqdrn winning the battle of britain all on its own...............

A million came overnight so we can expect bollocks like that posted on the internet, it appears, even onfora like this one and ubiquitously on newspaper comments fields. In reality there's no problems.

approx 10,000 British residents in Poland vs 1,000,000 + Poles in the UK, get real nipper.

I dont think this is about Brits Vs Poles. Bath City's PR strategy is to have poles come to the game in numbers as part of their 'Campaign 3000' scheme. They know the kind of atmosphere the poles would create and this would most certainly help the team's performance.

Did you guys read comments under this news???

Grubas, dont get sucked into this war of words....you know everyone is entitled to their own opinion and obviously some people take offence at the slightest of issues. I've been to hundreds of games where discounted tickets are issued, not because people cant afford them but because they need hundreds of supporters through the gates - it kinda of raises the club's profile.

It seems Bath City fans aren't too loyal to their club, and i understand especially if the club is not playing that well. However, i dont think they should pick on the Polish simply because the club has decided to bring them in to boost home support.

Who can ever be tired of Bath

Brilliant city....have you been to the spas??

If it were a Polish team pulling this PR stunt? would Polish people take offence?

what would that be? i remember being in a well known bar (Paparazzi) in Wroclaw watching Poland V Germany at the World Cup 2006, and it was as quite as a church. Occasionally a low chant of Polska could be heard but that was it, take a similar situation in a UK bar with England V Germany and wow you wouldnt even be able to talk because of the noise.

It wouldnt surprise me if the Poles start cheering on the opposing team, ive also experienced that in Poland, England V Portugal again World Cup 2006, We were in the bar and all the Brits were screaming for England of course, there was about 15 Poles all sat in the corner not saying a word. Then all of a sudden (about half way through the game) they start cheering Portugal, i went over to their table and said what are you doing cheering Portugal. A bit later a couple came over and explained that they liked Ronaldo, i said WTF has Portugal ever done for Poland, plus we lost that match and exited the World Cup. The point is they only cheered to p1ss of the English in that pub.

The only reason theyre offering the discount is because there is a massive Polish population in Bath and they need ticket sales to inject money into the club. The match will be packed with Poles for the discount match then after that nothing, why the hell would Poles support a foreign club and have to pay lots for the privilege? its a crap idea.
