Visiting Warsaw in april: WW 2 sites and other places of interest?

Hello

We are a group of 20 students from Denmark, who are visiting Warsaw from the 6th to 10th of April. We all share common interest in the events of world war two, as we descend from the members of the danish underground movement, and are seeking to combine the study of this with generally having a fun trip aboard.

In relation to that, I would like to ask those of you who live in Warsaw for recommendations. What is the best way to study the uprisings of 1943 and 1944? Whats the best way to get around town (on foot, by bus, other?). What are other places of interest in Warsaw to visit? We're young people, so decent bars / clubs are of interest too.

We're also considering a day trip to Auschwitz / Birkenau, would it be feasibly to go there by train? Or is it even reasonable to do such a trip in one day?

Any recommendations would be much appreciated

There are to many great things to see, in just Warsaw, and you can't see many in just a few days, even weeks, this is why I stay for a month or longer.

But you will enjoy it very much.
