Poland in photo riddles - part 3

what is this?:

This is some kind of machine, but why is this photo so dark?

This is some kind of machine

Nope, but it's imitating something mechanical, I guess you could say... 🤔

but why is this photo so dark?

I took it on a cloudy day late in the afternoon from what I remember and it's a close up.

Nope, but it's imitating something mechanical

Is this a toy?
Paulina  19 | 4651
8 Jun 2025   #694
@Alien, not quite, but you're pretty close :) I guess you could say that the part I photographed could be used as a toy if it wasn't attached to something else. 🤔

What do you think this thing depicts exactly?
Alien  28 | 7100
8 Jun 2025   #695
It looks a bit like the Predator helmet from the movie Predator vs. Alien. 🤔
Feniks  1 | 932

It has a sort of concertina shape from what I can see. This is completely off the wall but it's not part of one of those old folding/bellows cameras is it?
Feniks  1 | 932

Scrub the earlier suggestion, my eyesight's rubbish these days. I thought the mystery object was made of some thick cardboardy type stuff but on closer inspection I think it's made of metal that's been heavily scratched. No idea at all at the moment.

That is a picture of me training my dog how to use a gas mask.

it isn't a gas mask.

It sure looks like a muzzle of some kind.

yes, it's a muzzle. So what's going on?

Like I said, training a dog how to use a muzzle of some kind
So I was right then before Feniks was but NOoooo, she gets the credit of course and not me.

Training a service dog to wear a muzzle by the looks of it.

Yes, it's exactly that, well done! :)

Wait Paulina, I had already guessed that so why are you robbing me from being first to guess the riddle and giving the honors to your buddy ?
You women cheat !

Like I said, training a dog how to use a muzzle of some kind

No, you didn't say that in your first comment and you didn't answer the riddle question in your second comment. I asked you: "So what's going on?" and you didn't answer that. Feniks did.

That was the original riddle question: "What is going on?"

Also, you can't train a dog to "use" a gas mask or a muzzle. You can only train them to wear it.

Wait Paulina, I had already guessed that so why are you robbing me from being first to guess the riddle

Your first comment wasn't serious, so I didn't treat it seriously (and it was incorrect anyway).
Don't be a baby and next time just answer the riddle in a normal way - then noone else will beat you to it.

and giving the honors to your buddy ?

No, I usually treat this thread as a "demilitarized zone" - I'm not biased against anyone here. Just behave, answer the riddles in a normal and preferably precise way and you'll be OK.

And, please, don't trash this thread with your neverending grudges against me.

We're in the middle of another riddle, so you have another opportunity to guess.

I think it's made of metal

Nope. It is supposed to imitate metal though :)

that's been heavily scratched.

Yes, it was. By me :) All the scratching and damage that you can see in the photo was done by me - on purpose. And then I've painted on some of the damage that I've done:

It is supposed to imitate metal though :)

That got me thinking and with your other comments it's something you've obviously made.

I thought about your interests and I remembered a couple of times that you'd mentioned comics and that you'd done some Jim Lee drawings. You also mentioned superheroes before, specifically Captain America from Marvel films.

This is another of my off-the-wall guesses, but I decided to have a look at superheroes and I think you're making/have made the Iron Man suit/armour.

I usually treat this thread as a "demilitarized zone" -

I don't think even this thread has escaped that.

don't trash this thread

I think it's exactly what he's doing. As soon as he came back he targeted this thread.

I asked you: "So what's going on?" and you didn't answer that. Feniks did.

I answered it first in post #67
That is a picture of me training my dog how to use a gas mask.

Focus on the words "training" and "how to use a mask".
And then in posts #67
It sure looks like a muzzle of some kind.

Now focus on "some kind of muzzle" which you then confirmed it was a muzzle like I had said.
@johnny reb, yes, it's a muzzle. So what's going on?

I had already told you in post #67
Then after that F chimes in with her brilliant deduction of what I had already said. Duh !!
You guys cheat.
I think it's exactly what he's doing.

I think you have a superiority complex

You guys cheat.

Grow up. No-one is cheating. You didn't answer correctly as Paulina said.

Just stop trashing threads.

No-one is cheating.

Let the other members decide on that.
Grow up

Don't start on me again, Karen.
Blow it out your ear or I will embarrass you even more than I have.
Just stop your cheating.
What is this ?

Unless the picture was taken in Poland then it's irrelevant.

Northern Lights and The Golden Moron, lost in the woods, with the powerful light in his hand, trying to find his way to the outhouse.

It is supposed to imitate metal though :)

Of course by that I didn't mean this material was created to imitate metal, but it does have a slick surface and was painted on with shiny/metallic paints in order to imitate the metallic look.

it's something you've obviously made.

Oh, no, no, I'm not such an advanced craftsperson :))) I bought it as a gift for someone, but it came damaged a bit, so I decided to make a battle damaged version of it lol

the Iron Man suit/armour.

Wow, Feniks, you're honestly brilliant! :D Yes, the photos show close ups of the Iron Man suit :) It's not just the suit though - as I wrote to Alien: "you could say that the part I photographed could be used as a toy if it wasn't attached to something else." Although toys like this usually have movable parts and this one doesn't.

So, what could it be attached to? The whole thing is a decoration, but with an additional practical function.

Another fragment:

Wow, Ptak, you're absolutely brilliant !
Yes Ptak ! Yes, it's exactly that, well done! :)

Grow up. No-one is cheating. You didn't answer correctly as Paulina said.
Just stop trashing threads.

Stop trolling me

Northern Lights

According to Inuit legends, these are the ghosts of animals, including birds.

Yes, the photos show close ups of the Iron Man suit :)

Sometimes it's worth a wild guess :)

what could it be attached to? The whole thing is a decoration,

This is another of my wild guesses but not sure if this one's right. It's not one of those birthday cake toppers is it? The other part that you're showing looks a bit like it might be a foot but not entirely sure.....
Feniks  1 | 932
10 Jun 2025   #710
foot

I meant boot. If it's not a cake topper then maybe part of a candle?

Sometimes it's worth a wild guess :)

It was more than a wild guess - you have great memory :)

It's not one of those birthday cake toppers is it?

Nope and there's definitely nothing edible about any of it :)

I meant boot.

Yes, it's Iron Man's boot and it's no coincidence that it's the boot which is attached to that white thing and not a hand or something else.

then maybe part of a candle

It's not a candle, but that white part has something in common with a candle, actually :) And in the photo it's just a small fragment of that white element visible.

A lamp?

It does look a bit like a lightbulb, however could it be a kids' nightlight?
Paulina  19 | 4651
10 Jun 2025   #713
@jon357, yes, bingo!!! It's an Iron Man diorama lamp :)

bravo

I'm not sure what you're trying to say, but one thing I understand is that aliens have invaded your computer.Don't expect Jon to help you, his role here is to fu*k
with other people's computers.

The term is new to me. I'll have a look on Amazon.pl due to home decoration right now.

@Feniks, yes, it's that lamp! I payed for it twice as much in a Polish shop though ;/ Damn it... *sigh*

In case anyone's curious about the result of my repainting - I posted the photos in the hobby thread :)

Next riddle - what are those? This isn't anything Polish, but you can buy it in Poland (sorry, I'm running out of ideas for riddles lol):

@Paulina
Looks like something to eat, chips, some cheese and something sweet.
Paulina  19 | 4651
12 Jun 2025   #719
@Alien, yes, it's food and there's something sweet, but there's no cheese in that photo :)

chips

What type of chips?
Alien  28 | 7100
12 Jun 2025   #720
What type of chips?

For example, prawn chips like in a Chinese restaurant.
