Mushroom picking in spring in Poland?

We had an old Dziadek who was an expert on mushrooms,

but

He was diagnosed as death by mushroom poisoning.

Experts eh?

None of us ever ate a wild mushroom ever since

More for the rest of us.

tons of morels

You can't pick up morels in Poland. They are protected species.

You can't pick up morels in Poland. They are protected species.

You can't pick any in Kampinoski forest - they are all protected - but nevertheless a lot of the grzyby on sale in Warsaw come from there.

Too early.

That's what we've got in Moscow area. I thought however Poland would have a bit warmer climate. So it should be even earlier... well... you know it better.

You'd think so but for some reason it works differently. To do with the spores etc. A friend who picks them professionally starts in June, though there are only really kurki around at that time.
