How do I get from Chopin airport to Pole Mokowskie metro?

Hello, folks!
In a few weeks I'll be traveling to Warszawa.

I need to get from the Airport to Pole Mokotowskie metro.
As far as I understand, I will take the red SKM train to the Central Station. Now what's the best way from Central Station to Pole Mokotowskie, metro?

Also, is the train ticket valid for metro or buses?

Thank You!
- Alex

You can take the train S2 from Airport to WARSZAWA S£UŻEWIEC.

Walk to S£UŻEWIEC 01 tram station
Take the tram 17 to METRO POLE MOKOTOWSKIE 04

You can use this site:
warszawa.jakdojade.pl/?locale=en

And YES
The ticket is valid.
You can buy a based time (75 minutes) ticket and use it on metro, bus, train or tram.

Regards

It's not far - a taxi will cost 20pln / 4.8Euro and take 10 mins. Make sure you get in a taxi that's waiting outside the terminal - the guys in the yellow jerseys waiting just outside the control this and are good. The trip by bus train tram etc could take an hour.

Thank You so much for your replies. I will bookmark the route planning site ;)

Maniak - do you mean that a Taxi from the Airport to Pole Mokotowskie will cost 20Pln? Because I read somewhere that this will cost at least 50 Pln...

Just don't forget to validate your ticket.
Alternative is the KM9 train, also to Służewiec. Other operator, same tickets are valid.

Best source for transport information: warszawa.jakdojade.pl (also has an interface in English)

That's among the craziest suggestions I've ever heard here. Did you get it from a website and have you ever been to Warsaw?

A taxi would cost closer to 40 than 20.

There's are buses from the car park right outside the arrivals hall (you can't miss the bus stop - there are always people waiting so you'll see it as soon as you walk out of the airport door) to:

Metro Centrum (2 stops - 7 or 8 mins -away from Metro Pole Mokotowskie) - the 175 bus, and to
Metro Politechnika (1 stop - 3 mins -away from Metro Pole Mokotowskie) - the 188 bus

They run from early morning to late at night several times an hour. There's a ticket machine in the bus stop. As Sobieski says, don't forget to validate the ticket (in the yellow machine) as soon as you get on.

ZTM route planner also suggests that I take the S2 train and then the 17tram...

However, you are suggesting that I take the 175 bus from the airport and get off at Centrum metro station. Then take the metro to Pole Mokowskie station.

Is that correct?

Yes. Or 188 bus to Metro Politechnika, whichever comes first - it doesn't make much difference except that 175 is more frequent.

I'd be wary of these online things - they are very often inaccurate (and the 2 mentioned here use the same software so it isn't one confirming the other).

I fly in/out of Okecie 20 or 30 times a year and have been using that airport for years. Most people if not using a cab would just get a bus to the metro as I often do.

I've done this route before. But maybe it's a little more you should only pay 25pln during normal traffic. It's 7km - taxis cost around 2 - 2.4 pln per km plus around 8pln starting charge. Don't talk to any guys offering you a taxi IN the terminal they are dodgy. Go out the main doors and there's an official guy in a yellow jersey and he'll point you out a good taxi. 50pln would be an illegal rate.

Thanks Jon and Maniak.

Very helpful information. I am under 30 and I usually try to travel for cheap so I'll stick to the bus and metro ;)
Rented a flat in Warsaw for a few months, can't wait to discover a little bit of Poland :D

I'd recommend the 188 bus and get off at Politechnika Metro to get to Pole Mokotowskie metro and avoid the centre as it can be very busy. Politechnika is a smaller station hence easier to get around and sort things out especially if you're new to the city. It's just a personal preference. Also the 175 bus tends to get very full and the 188 less so. It should also cut out 10 mins off the journey getting 188 and metro this way.

But on both 175 and 188 you should look out for pickpockets - as Harry recently pointed out. They are supposedly very popular with this scum...Together with the trams on Aleje Jerozolimskie.
