Car insurance (drive) between UK and Warsaw?

I plan on starting to drive between UK and Warsaw. I'm a student in Warsaw but go home for holidays and summer. How would I organize car insurance in each country? Also would I be covered in all the other countries I pass on the drive through to Calais, France?

Insurance in one EU country is automatically valid in all the other EU countries. However, you may only have the minimum cover required by law depending on your insurance policy.

Whatever you do, check the fine print. EG, although UK policies cover a holiday in Europe, they will only give full cover for a short time. Once you go over that you're on bare bones cover - like third party ONLY, even if you bought fully comp.
