American wanting to study in Rzeszow

I'm an American looking to study in Rzeszow next October. I've started learning Polish already (although if any one has any tips they are more than welcome) and my grades in high school were good enough. The problem is I have no idea what steps I need to go through and how to actually make it happen. I've looked around online for Americans that study in Poland and there are extremely few and they've been of little help. Does anybody know exactly what needs to be done in order for an American to study at a private Polish university?

Hi!

You started learning Polish and you want to study already in Poland? I do not want to offend you because this is a "delicate" forum and Polish are not allowed to pour their true thoughts but what in the world makes you think that you can even dream of studying in Polish schools without not only good knowledge but very sound skills in Poland's native tongue? You need to have excellent not basic or just good knowledge of Polish to study here, and you don't even know the basics, in Poland standards are higher than in USA. Also, your good high school grade are a bonus but in Poland you will need much more than American high school scores, in Poland schools are more advanced. I suggest you really seek help from some Polish students.

I'll be studying in English. They have English language programs for the Bachelor degree I want. I also have 10 months to learn the language and I am paying a Polish tutor. I don't expect to study in a language that i'm not fluent in.

In reality there are thousands of students at Polish universities who don't speak Polish. Perhaps you should visit a Polish university some time.

I have friends in the city that I will be rooming with but they don't know how an american would study in Poland either. The vast majority of foreign students are Ukrainian or EU citizens.

I know some American, Nigerian and Norwegian students in Warsaw. Probably the best thing to do is to contact the university you want to attend and put your questions to them.

Their entire degrees (I don't recall meeting a non-EU/Ukrainian student here on an exchange program).

I would recommend finding a Polish teacher living in Poland online. They will surely be cheaper and likely better than an American Polish teacher. If you send me a direct message I can hook you up.

And I think it's a really cool idea. Don't listen to the haters. While your friends back home sink themselves into $50,000+ of debt you will leave university with very little debt and a whole lot more life experience.
