Moving to Poland with horses

Hi Everyone, I'm currently based in the US and considering retiring in Poland but would like to bring a couple of my horses with me. Is it possible to find a reasonably priced (buy or rent) house on couple of hectares, or a small a farm so that i could continue to keep them at home rather than board? Not looking for anything super high end but do not want to sign up for a fixer upper either.

Are there any communities where horse ownership is more common? I grew up in Poland during the communist times and my interest in horses was considered weird, would like to avoid a repeat. Not looking to compete or breed or offer lessons, just want to find a quiet clean rural area with reasonable access to some basic services like vet and farrier.

Is my idea doable at all? I'd have a budget of around $4k per month.

That's a very good budget. So you'd like to keep horses on your own property all the time? Probably the best bet would be to move to a Polish village, close to a horse farm so that you could befriend them and their vet.

There are many semi-abandoned places in the Polish countryside to start your own farm. For example, look for "Stadnina Skarżyce" in the Strzegom rejon, Lower Silesia in Poland.

Bad move. With Russia's current aggression I can't see Poland not being involved in war in the next few years.

I'd personally move to such a community and not keep your own horses at home. Much less headache if you ask me.

Nowadays, noting in Poland is considered weird. But you must make sure to find and stick to the horse community. The less commercial, the better.. I'd stick to the Polish countryside.
