Accepting cash settlement from property inheritance in Poland?

Two years ago my GFs father died. He died without making a will. So his estate was split three ways between his second wife (the first wife died), his daughter (my GF) and his son. The main asset was his half share of the house. The wife has offered my GF a settlment of 80,000 Zloty. But the wife only wants to pay in cash.

What is the legal score? There are the risks of robbery, theft, counterfeit notes. Not to mention the bank is forced to contact the police and tax office. My GF wants to accept an electronic bank transfer. She will consider a cheque or a bankers draft.

So what should she do?

I'd suggest agreeing only if the money is paid in full at and accepted by the bank where your GF has an account.
Also, contact the tax office for a binding ruling to confirm that that arrangement will incur no tax (it shouldn't, given that it's a class one inheritance).
