The cost of a furnished apartment near Warsaw downtown are high? Why?

In looking for a nice fully furnished apartment in or near downtown Warsaw, with three rooms, I find, the cost have got up very much since my last visit, why is this, and when did it happen?

I want to move to Poland in May, but am not able to find a nice, good priced apartment. The cost have gone up, and are now high.

If you can help, please do so, I would be glad all your input.

If it's true that prices went up, then you should wait for them to go down again or accept the situation. I hope that helped.

I'm sure if you move to a rural community outside Warsaw you'll be able to find a cheap place to live.

Like where, and how far would this be, and how would I find this?

It depends on what is high and low price for you. And how to do that? browse apartment portals and usually they go with attached map, so you can check what prices are offered in given place. Do you want to buy or rent?

Long term rent, fully furnished three rooms, with full size bed, and everything included.

They haven't gone up: rental prices are the same as they were five years ago and lower than they were ten years ago.

"Valpomike" - signing is redundant as your name is added above automatically by forum.

Harry,

Check around, you will find you are incorrect. I know, the same place I took a few years ago, has gone way up. Can you help me find a nice place at a fair price?

Mike: in 1999 I rented a 39 metre flat and paid 2,000zl per month. Two weeks ago a friend of mine rented a 39 metre flat in that same building which is in better condition and he is paying 1,800zl per month. Another friend rents a 48 metre flat (with an 80 metre terrace) in a building that is four years old and is paying 2,000zl per month.

Can you help me find a nice place at a fair price?

No. Why can't you just use the internet to search like everybody else does?
Although frankly your idea of what a fair price is and what the market price is may be very different. If you think that you will be able to afford a three-room flat in Warsaw with an income of $1,200 per month, you are sadly mistaken.

This is just a part of my income, and yes, I did in the past.
I have tried the internet, and most, will not even reply.

You should find somebody speaking polish to help you, because many owners don't know English or don't want to speak with foreigners because feeling less comfortable or because foreigner is possible harder to request compensation for damages (because can simply leave the country) I linked article about it today.

gumtree.pl/fp-dom-mieszkanie-do-wynajecia/warszawa/c9008l3200008 - if you call just added adds then chance of answer is bigger in my opinion.

If you mean that place at the corner of Poznanska and Hoza, it's a holiday flat - short term lets only.

For normal long term rentals, the prices are very stable. Have a look on Gumtree.

Gumtree is in Polish, and I don't read Polish, or have anyone here who does.
Can you translate for me?

Warsaw? Haha and you want cheap apartment? Gee, why don't people realise something, Poland is not a country where you can just come in and get anything for free, it is Warsaw we are talking about, nothing is cheap there. I suggest smaller town apartment or one on the outskirts of Warsaw.

Just use google translate. Or contact an English-speaking real estate agent. Or contact a relocation agency.

Given how much help you seem to need and how few people you will have to help you in Poland, are you sure that moving to Poland is such a good idea?

Does anyone have a idea, to help me, in English?

Will be moving some time in May, and may have to stay in a hotel and go out with agents myself, but was wishing to have this all done, before I get there, as last visit.

Please, if you can, help me, I am 71 years young, and not good on the computer.

For the fourth time: contact a relocation agency.

I don't want to pay a fee, to a agent, for things I hope to be able to do myself. I had no problems on my last visit.

So how is this different from your last visit, Mike?

here you have GumTree translated by google. But don't expect people to be ready to rent you apartment online. If you don't want to pay for relocation agency you may try paying some polish speaker to help organize something for you through this website. But as always, when money involved comes problem of trust.

Or maybe don't worry so much now, rent apartment online through 9flats.com or airbnb.com for 1 or 2 months. Price should be much cheaper than paying for hotel for that time. You can further reduce price by renting in place like Pruszków next to Warsaw. Then come to Poland and search for apartment when already here. But still it would be good to have some contacts or at least dresses where to go with problems.

Here you have example search of cheap apartment in Warsaw for month May: airbnb.com/s/Warsaw--Poland?checkin=05%2F01%2F2013&ch eckout=05%2F31%2F2013&price_max=700

When booking through one of this pages your money are secure, because the company insures you, but you should search for apartment offered by people with comments, to be sure that quality is as advertised.

I suggest smaller town apartment or one on the outskirts of Warsaw.

I agree not only will housing be less expensive, so will living costs also and more importantly the community will be smaller, Warsaw is a City like any other and it can be very isolating and lonely living in a city. For a retiree a smaller town would I think be more logical. But that is only my opinion.

@Valpomike may I ask why Warsaw? not another city or town, Warsaw is not exactly pretty.

I picked Warsaw, first off, because, on my visits there, I fell in love with it, and it's many great people, Second, I have some family, and friends living there now.

valpomike, perhaps if you told us how much you'd be willing to pay for an apartment and how many bedrooms we could do an online search for you or advise you if it's possible at all.

if you are more specific with your questions we can be of greater help.

good luck
