Can you do business with basic Polish?

its a place where people speak polish and i will have to deal with a lot of people in restaurants, with cab drivers, hotel staff etc.

Do you think speaking to them in English would be offensive?

What it is to you? Maybe he has a gift for languages and if not some basic Polish could be helpful indeed. Let him be!

Restaurants and hotels will be fine with English, for cab drivers, use Uber (you'll need to download the app) where you order the cab through the app and they follow a route from GPS (so no cheating).

Of course some Polish phrases will be useful and I just googled 'survival Polish' and a few interesting websites came up. If you learn a few phrases, people will appreciate that.

If anyone approaches you after seeing this thread and offers 'lessons' by Skype, I would suggest you avoid.

Can i find any Polish school in New Delhi? Finding it for my daughter as I have settled in India now from Poland. She doesn't know English well.

How old is your daughter? If she is under six years old she will pick up basic English within a few months if she goes to an English speaking school. If she's older it will take her a bit longer. I doubt very much that you will be able to find a school that offers primary or secondary school education through Polish. However if there is such a place, these people would probably know about it:

Delhi university's The Department of Slavonic and Finno-Ugrian Studies offers 1 year Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Polish Language.


BHU's Department of Foreign Languages also offers two year Diploma in Polish.
