How are you spending self-quarantine?

Coronavirus threat is serious.

Schools are closed, I also cancelled all my courses and tutorials so I have plenty of time. We are all staying at home. It is not a problem to me coz despite my love for nature etc, I am a homebody, in fact. Even yesterday we didn`t go to church but watched the mass broadcast from Jasna Góra. Funny, attending the service on sofas with pets next to us.

So, I kill the time in various ways. I teach kids English. I read a book to them. We watch masterpieces of Polish cinema - now, Zezowate Szczęście. I lurk in the fora, of course. I do some little repairs around the house - e.g., I improved the filter in the turtle tank. I also do some cleaning, like before Easter.

Oh, I almost forgot - I play my fav old strategic game which luckily still runs on WIndows 10 - Cossacks 2.

What about you?

Work from house is magnificent thing. Especially when you are good.

So, sometimes, I like Total War. When play Empire I play Poland or Russia and I rule the world. In Empire Stainless Steal- I play Serbia and rule the world. Or in add-on on original Total War- Europa Barbarorum, I of course play Sarmatians and again rule the world. I used to rule.

Yes, in my case it is possible. I am contacting my students through electronic class register and telling them which exercises they can do. E.g., Passive Voice for lower grades:

When play Empire I play Poland or Russia and I rule the world.

That`s nice. Is it possible to play both Poland and Russia united into a superpower? :):)

No, unfortunately. You must pick one at a time. Good thing is that in start Poland and Russia start with strong alliance which often can endure till the end of the game.

But, you know me. In Total War Medieval - add on Stainless Steel extended, I play Serbia. Then I conquer, I mean, unite, all Slavic lands under Serbian rule and that makes me very happy. Then I molest, I mean, bringing freedom to the rest of the world.

Its even better in Europa Barbarorum. I play Sarmats (ie Serbs). Oh what I doing to the Greeks and Romans. Its epic sex.

A walk and a bike ride with the kids every day

Cooking all the old stuff we have in the spizarnia

Making a new kind of cocktail every night

Lots of reading

Catching up on films I never saw

Listening to a new band every day

Trying to ignore the news and trolls

Oops, PiS Minister of Health said it is not good time for walks.

Really - I didn't see that because there is so much different advice

There were lots of people out walking in the sunshine !

But I went somewhere very remote to do that. 25km from the town.

Balls to that. Fresh air and exercise will boost your immunity.

Sorry, I just checked it out, he was talking about mandatory quarantine for people suspected of being infected. They mustn`t leave homes under no circumstances.

The problem is that when you leave home, you can still be infected by guys who don`t care about the proper distance. Also, you can touch knobs and other things used by other people.

Depends where you live; in an area with high population density, or somewhere quiet.

Excercise is good physically and (massively important right now) psychologically.

Yes - one of the biggest risk factors is high blood pressure and I am working to keep mine stable - exercise is a big part of that and with the gyms and pools closed then walking and cycling are my only options (hate jogging !)

Only if they sneeze/cough into your face. That's not likely to happen if you go out for a walk.

Also, you can touch knobs and other things used by other people.

Just wash your hands when you come home. It's not the Plague. Even if you catch it you're more likely to survive than die. (Famous last words!! :D)

Reading of books is also fine way to spend your time. Read during the day and go to sleep with audiobooks. Drown yourself in positive info and emotion.

@ Pawian, CMS and anybody else at home with the kids, why not get involved with this?? Creativity/art is always hugely therapeutic and fun :))

I have only one emotion...
I would like to kill those who allowed all antibiotics and everything else we need to exist to be made in China.

Ill have time to practice Polish and play my guitar:)

I want to go back to Poland this summer, when the virus is hopefully gone.

antibiotics and everything else we need to exist to be made in China.

This is the wake up call for all the outsourcing to end. They make the meds that are given to our Soldiers, how stupid is that! The Chinese already threatened they would hold back if we didnt stop saying"ChinaVirus". More proof we shouldnt trust these commies.

That is not stupid. It's criminal and a firing squad - as the remedy.

I stopped trusting the Chinese after they exported all that poisoned pet food around 10 years ago. Remember all the dogs that died? They do not care at all about anyone but themselves. They manufacture and export Fentanyl and lead based painted childrens toys around the globe. They are Scum!

The Chinese and the Jewish swindlers here have the same DNA and see others the same way - as ripoff candidates.

This will be an issue for people self-isolating. If they're eating preserved and processed foods, the sodium levels will be sky high!

Ok, you convinced me . We went for a strenous walk. Driving out of the city was pure pleasure - 20 minutes and we reached our destination - forested hills. We met about 100 walkers - many elderly couples.

A walk and a bike ride with the kids every day

Yes, I suggested it to my wife, too but she disagreed. Wise woman. :) Now, a simple accident might turn into a horror coz all resources have been moved to fight the virus.

Last I heard they're thinking about closing the airports next.

They are already closed for civilian flights. On our outing we could see the airport - busy but only army choppers were landing and taking off like crazy. Either routine military training or they are dispatching troops to future checkpoints in isolated cities.

This is a nice thread - can we keep the Chinese and Russian stuff off it for once ?

Today feels different - great weather. Had a walk next to the lake and then McDonald's in the parking lot and was kind of Ok - lots of people plot exercising and a few shopping.

Reading Vasari's lives of the artists - a bucket list book that should take about 50 hours

That's one that you can pick up and put down; artist by artist. A wonderful book, a voice from the past.

No, we can't. That is how spend my self-quarantine - thinking about my enemies, the Chinese, and my dear friends and the employer, the Russians.

Well then you shouldn't have driven to the woods!!

Why doesn't your wife want to take the children out?? You brought them with you today didn't you? What sort of an accident does she think they could have walking??
