How would Poles react to a visit from Queen Elizabeth?

I didnt say you were English, I have never met an English person who coat trails in the way you have repeatedly.

Your knowledge of Irish history is non existent as evidenced by your post. If you would like to discuss Irish history feel free to start by asking questions as its clear you understand next to nothing about the subject.

Posting racist images of the savage Irish is racist which makes you an ignorant hypocritical racist.

Take your attempted self serving hand wringing and put it where the sun dont shine.

Fuck me - can this thread be closed now?

One retarded trolling fool (who, as I keep saying, isn't even Irish) starts mouthing off and the enlightened response? More retarded jingoistic ill-infomed shit from people who I thought knew better.

so take your own advise and learn how to spell(:

Back to you on that one I'm afraid : )

In the context of your sentence, it isn't.

Maybe you simply don't understand. Ah well.

You saying it doesn't make it so, you haven't even disproved a single claim that i have made. But you are obviously happy to see him make racist remarks about Poland, so who is the real racist? And I haven't drawn that picture.

And honestly were do you get off on calling the Irish savage, shame on you.

No I actually do, I thought you were talking about the word itself (as in it does not exist), but I get your point i used it in th wrong context that is true, but pardon me if i don't treat this as an examination, I've got better things to do than fuss about the spelling of my posts.

How would Poles react to visit from E the II ?Well, most would be bothered! Some will be gawking!

Why do you ask?

And how this thread changed into a thread about Ireland ?

No surprise there. I mentioned the "I" word in the opening post to give context. Shouldn't have bothered.

Why do you ask?

Just wondering. Is she viewed as almost a celebrity or as the same as any other head of state or with complete ambivalence etc etc or what?

There were huge crowds last time - it seems a lot of people are interested in her.

And how this thread changed into a thread about Ireland ?

She's going there soon. It's an issue because some people in Ireland have strong views about historical injustices, and The Queen has had family members, including children, murdered by the iRA.

Well, she is viewed as some kind of novelty, because she is a queen,a rare bird nowadays the people are used to to boring parades of Prime Ministers, Presidents and such, but there is no some special interested apart from the general feeling the UK is in fact friendly country.

There were huge crowds last time - it seems a lot of people are interested in her.

See above and the fact that there is a lot programs on TV about her!

She's going there soon. It's an issue because some people in Ireland have strong views about historical injustices, and The Queen has had family members, including children, murdered by the iRA.

Well, apart from historical injustices, I think that Ireland cannot complain about UK, didn't she receive some billions pounds aid monies from Britain ?
I don't think that Poland could expect such aid from Germany, Russia or Austria? Those cheap bastards are only able to complain foully about Poles,dick-less sickos !

7 Billion pounds sterling..........and guess what our government needs to save hence tax hikes and service cuts...yup...7 Billion....
Time to let it go.....to be fair, most Irish and British people have,it tends,in my experience,to be Yanks and Poles who blindly eulogies the nasty boyos as some sort of romantic freedom fighters...

You saying it doesn't make it so, you haven't even disproved a single claim that i have made.

Its not me saying it its the vast majority of scholars from every part of these Islands. The written record demonstrates the ridiculousness of your claim.

Claiming the English were invited into Ireland by Strongbow is just historically wrong in so many ways. Strongbow didnt invite anyone into Ireland. Perhaps you could distil the process whereby the people known as the English came about then have a look at your post again.

Coat trailing about the destruction of the Irish language, laws and society is highly offensive and a lot more complicated than The Irish preferred to speak English or The Irish preferred to be ruled by the Normans. That is the equivalent of blaming the woman for the rape. Posting racist and sectarian cartoons is inexcusable and the actions of a bigoted racist as I said above.

And honestly were do you get off on calling the Irish savage, shame on you.

Another example of your lack of knowledge of Irish history. That term was used to describe Irish people who didnt bow the knee to England ie the vast majority of Irish people. Stop twisting, be a man and recognise what you posted.

Edit

I love the way if something doesnt fit into the stereotype of poor oppressed oirish folks and evil nasty englishmen...well,it must be trolling.........

Its trolling when he posts racist and sectarian images.
The simple narrative is nasty English as is the complicated narrative.

The Brits did not bail out Ireland they bailed out their own banks and hid the fact from the British people. It’s a nice little earner for them…borrowed at 2% lent at almost 6%

I agree. I can relate to it since I am Ukrainian and the destruction of the Ukrainian culture has been going on for centuries. I find that most of the time people who have not gone through a similar experience are not able to relate. However, one thing is not being able to relate, another is to be ignorant about it.

Hague is the latter.

Yeah, pity two trolls came on here to bash Ireland.

The Brits did not bail out Ireland they bailed out their own banks and hid the fact from the British people. It’s a nice little earner for them…borrowed at 2% lent at almost 6%

Ireland is one of Britain's main export partners (at almost 7%), what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

However, one thing is not being able to relate, another is to be ignorant about it.
Hague is the latter.

I think the worst thing about Irish history is the denial and/or twisting of the actual events.
Britain has really improved their relationship with Ireland over the last few years, simply by admitting the injustices of the past.
We've come a long way, long enough it appears for the queen to visit, so it's all good.

Thanks
The relationship between big and small neighbours is always especially complicated with different stories for the same events. Having the ability to stand aside and see the others point of view is the only way to advance this is always difficult for the larger state. I have seen you attacked for daring to suggest that such things happened in your neck of the woods, black and white people telling you that you are black and white.

This is true, there is hardly a month goes by without some new confirmation that the state were lying, just last night the BBC broadcast a documentary about the British Army facilitating the murder of 15 men women and children in McGurks bar and lying about it.

There is peace now and all sides welcome that.

Pity that the Irish government can not be as forthcoming about its support for, arming of and funding for the PIRA.

No one here is speaking the true English language, the Normans banned English from being spoken, but it survived among the peasant community, when Norman French was dropped in favour of middle English, it had become unrecognisable from old English. a lot of old English words have survived in rural dialects, these are regarded as slang. How We'd Talk If The English Had Won in 1066.

Isn't it amazing how donations to Noraid went down after 9/11?

I imagine some Poles will see a Royal visit as a bit of a novelty and may go and have a look out of curiosity, but this would probably be older people and children. I doubt the rest will even notice.

Donations to terrorist organisations were banned straight after 9/11. A scandal they were allowed in the first place.

I suspect it had quite a bit to do with party politics in NY and Boston.

But no matter how much people (on either side) fan the flames from the outside, common sense and decency usually prevails in the end. It just takes a bit of effort.

That and Mo Mowlem taking her wig off and throwing it at the hotheaded politicians.

I understand. I am not locking myself up thinking that things have not improved, because they have, yet, I also might have an idea what it was like in the past.

I have seen you attacked for daring to suggest that such things happened in your neck of the woods, black and white people telling you that you are black and white.

thanks, that has happened indeed and I am still being attacked for it from time to time. Such as life. I was attacked for not seeing the issue their way, but I simply couldn't.

Another example of your lack of knowledge of Irish history. That term was used to describe Irish people who didnt bow the knee to England ie the vast majority of Irish people. Stop twisting, be a man and recognise what you posted.

I am in a generous mood, so I will be charitable to you and educate you about Irish history. The picture in question is not about all Irish people, it is addressed to fenians or Irishmen who participated in terrorist activities against both people and animals. You implying that all Irishmen are fenians, is quite frankly low.

The simple narrative is nasty English as is the complicated narrative.

That sounds like something a simple mind would say.

Claiming the English were invited into Ireland by Strongbow is just historically wrong in so many ways. Strongbow didnt invite anyone into Ireland. Perhaps you could distil the process whereby the people known as the English came about then have a look at your post again.

You should try to keep a little quiet because your ignorance is showing. "The success of the invasion made King Henry(of England), concerned that his barons would become too powerful and independent overseas. He therefore ordered all troops to return to England by Easter 1171. Richard de Clare(known as Stongbow) delayed his return until he had repulsed the High King(of Ireland). Immediately afterwards, hurried to England to solicit help from Henry II(of England) "

And of course Strongbow and the rest of the Normans were invited to Ireland by Dermot MacMurrough, or perhaps you would like to deny that as well and embarrass yourself again?

You should also keep in mind before so rudely interrupting my argument with someone else, that the division of an argument into polar opposites leaving no room for nuance and compromise is part of the art of debating.

However I suspect that you know all this, and the only reason that you pick on my argument and not the argument of the Irish racist, is that you probably agree with his slandering of the Poles? I have challenged you on this score in previous posts with no response, so I ask you again, who is the real racist?
