got to keep the moderators sweet (I might accept that 3rd place position after all!). Honestly, I was just chuffed to see myself in the update!

BTW good work with the translations lately

Thanks, I'm trying. One day maybe I'll be as good as Google Translate.

You can't just mention the word and not offer the suggestion. You are saying there may be flowers in the garden.

hope this means I'm forgiven :)

for what. I made fun of some people when I was writing my edition and being made fun of and even being mentioned in the edition is a good thing.

I am not that sensitive, you know:). Good laugh is the best!!!!!

Vincent, you did a great job of being guest writer in the omnibus edition. :) Perhaps you and szarlotka could share the task in future? :)

Me being joint 2nd in the football thread is a temporary glitch and be assured that after the next round of matches order will be restored and I'll be languishing in about 10th place if not lower. ;) Unless I do my homework properly and knock jbman flying from the top! :)

The next guest contributor to the PF Omnibus? Who knows? ;)

No way PD..you will be a top 3 finisher and please take it easy on us males, some of us could not even tip our hats if we tried:) Shame you never joined us on Polson's other game, maybe there is still time at the next round:)

Thanks Vincent. :) Actually I am surprised by how well I did in that round, if you recall in the Euro 2008 threads my predictions were awful! ;) Maybe I will be there in the next round. :)

You should try predicting the future of PF members like who will be suspended next

Welcome from a sombre and deeply depressed Omnibus Edition office. Sporting events over the weekend have left me feeling down. Firstly Liverpool failed to see off a plucky Stoke City and had a perfectly good Stevie Gerrard goal ruled out by a partially sighted, retarded lunatic who had obviously tied up the match referee ten minutes before the start of the match, donned his match uniform and cantered out on to the Anfield pitch quietly humming to himself. Then to make things worse Europe lost the Ryder Cup to them Yankies. Fair enough, the better team won. The US played some of the best golf ever in the competition. However, it still hurts, especially when one of them gallops down the first fairway using his Driver as an imaginary horse. Good ole boy that Boo Weekley. What a character he is. Shouts of Boo S A everywhere. It’s golf Jim but not as I know it. Largely because, unlike JB Holmes, I can’t actually drive the ball 370 yards. Just wait for two years when we get the US team over to Wales. You boys can’t play in the rain and guess, what, its always freaking rains in Wales.

Oh well to more mundane matters……

Vincent comes clean….

how you tried to set them free.
They would not listen
they're not
list'ning still
perhaps they never will.

That’s right. Vincent was the mystery writer of this column last week. For some reason his splendid effort ruffled a few feathers and people were getting agitated and demanding the name be revealed. Vincent has now been asked to be a regular contributor. Good call in my view. He should have lots of spare time soon when Spurs, on current form, will be out of all the cup competitions. Mind you they did beat Wisla Krakow last week.

Sorry seem to be the hardest word.

It is. I have no intention of reading any more dribble about farm girls, Satanism, paganism, euro coins, Bangladeshi entrepreneurs, people trying to sell me the concept of MLM, mad Americans propositioning retail assistants, pan Slavic world domination, people who are too sexy for their shirts…… I ain’t summarising any of that tosh. Someone start a thread on the comparative critique of Steinbeck and Thomas Mann. That I will read.

Actually I would summarise some of the recent threads but I’m too depressed about the golf!

1. Biking thread turned into: how to rise teenagers for a while and than it even became a hiking thread at one point. I open the thread just to brag about my recent biking hobby, which has nothing to do with biking in Poland.

2.some American gentleman farmer could not clearly explain why he cannot find a woman to assist him on his farm. Well, it is a hard job, so I am not sure why would anybody would want to do it, unless she is a farmer herself.

3.Szarlotka keeps finding excused for not writing Omnibus in a form of loosing in a golf game, as if that didn't happened before.

4.Lodz_ is trying to restore some kind of order on PF, as if he didn't already know that it is impossible to have a normal dialog here.

5.We haven't heard from Wildrover, so things must be either very good or very bad.

6. Outinayard is thinking of travelling to Europe (Poland included), but he better starts saving right now or he would have to take canned beans in order to survive in Europe, which is probably a bit heavy for back-packing anyways.

7. Lesser is still fighting the EU policies and this time he thinks that he has to eat fish and therefore his human rights are being violated. The Jazzy boy would eat the fish but only right by the sea and with a glass of chablais - what a cheek. I am not sure EU would like that.

One is wondering whose fishing industries are we forced to support this time. If we a told to eat eggs, as we are in Canada, does it mean that there is chicken farmers lobby behind the scene?

--------------
where is everybody?
Krysia, Ranj, Sledz, Zgubiony and other people, who used to post on PF. The American members must be busy with the elections, or with a new, but painful financial crisis their country is facing.

Does the absence of those people mean a "new era on PF"?

Who is going to post. It has been a really strange week on PF. If it wasn't for a good weather and the biking, I would be depressed by the quality of PF posts lately.

Until next time people;)

The biking thread has brought out some interesting places. It would be nice to hear more from other PF members WHereever the heck they have been hiding?

I can all my beans in Glass jars so that may be interesting . A back pack of glass jars. Or I could get food from the locals. being a beloved american that I am,People would feed me. As for the farming and being a hard job, I would challenge anyone to live on my place for a few months and see how rather easy it is compared to many others. Drive a nice comfy tractor , plant some crop, sit all summer and do nothing, harvest crop with nice comfy tractor, travel the world all winter, come back and start over, Oh, dont' forget the money counting. That takes work too. It is all a myth from the old days, I would think any woman who loved a peacefull life and liked to spend time wih her partner would like farming or at least like the financial security. After all , anyone who owns there land of 1000 acres or more is a millionare . And do not forget that the US government pays you a subsidy too
