I need Polish nationals. Who wants to be a millionaire?

Too bad WB didn't give us any details about his idea. He sounds like he might really
have a groundbreaking idea (or at least he thinks he has one).

Thanks Torq i appreciate your enthusiasm. I threw the idea out there on a thread to see the response, your reply alone deserves a reply and i will tell what i know.

Its basically on line education, i have in place databases which schools can benefit from, threres something for everyone:

Pupil: online courses, to GCSE or Polish equivalent
Teachers: to mark and grade pupils on line (no paper work)
Parents: log in to check their childrens progress

The system is almost finished it can be tailor made to suit any education system, ie. 4-8 year olds, 8-12 year olds etc.. in any language, the profit comes in a package deal, x amount is charged per pupil, per month, or per year. This is where a Polish national comes in, sell the idea to one school and then more schools, it is the future, pen and paper will become obsolete.

Regarding the database system anything can be obtained.

This is the future.

This was similar to something I was thinking about in the Private Health Care Sector. Though more to do with the Patient -> Care team -> Family sequence. The rest I'll keep to myself for a little longer :P ;)

Robbed or not i dont want to blow my own trumpet but i said years ago when mobiles just bleeped they should play tunes. In any case if you have requirements i have the back office seriously.... a very eduacted and dedicated team....

Bingo, I wasn't a million miles away from what I guessed.

If you can get the right sales guys, you'll make a killing. The only problem that I can see is that school directors are very politically appointed - if you can get people in with connections to local politicians, you could easily do well.

I was actually reading about something similar to WB's idea - and the industry is due to grow 3 times within 3 years. Not a bad idea at all!

Sell the system to the top, if it works in one school it'll work in all. Poland will go that way in the end as will all educational systems accross the board.

As i said i have everything in place, the database is 70% complete based on the UK module.

Does every pupil have access to a computer in Polish classrooms?

Yep, can't argue at all - in fact, I'd argue that Poland is more than fertile ground because they aren't tied into expensive IT contracts, unlike British schools for instance.

Good question and my first one too, im thinking no.

Even so the system will cater for those that do and dont have pc access. Forms will be the same, if pupils cant complete online teachers will. Interent access will not be advantageous via a interchanging exam system thus cheating will not be possible.

No writing answers in the old thong.....

Hey I would sweep horse **** (and have done so) if it meant I could live a happy life ;)

Just for the record we had a water shortage of about two weeks recently and some fcuk was taking dumps in my stable, there was large and small turds accompanied with toilet paper all in a line, around 20 i cleaned that **** out earlier this week.

So DT, thats the price for living the dream. I'll only miss this place when i leave and miss it i will. Saw six wild boar the other day....

Yep, it would surprise people what we have to do just to live the dream. 6 boar? I would have been out like a shot with the rifle :) Wild Boar burgers, just in time for the summer.

Doing all right really. Moved from Ireland to Scotland now my business there is done and dusted. Working in my old job nursing away for the company I used to work for and building work in my spare time. Quite boring, making plans for a return to Poland one last and final time.

Speak with private schools first and foremost. They are more likely to have one laptop per student.

Remember though, one of your first obstacles will be the books suppliers. These boyos are on the pigs back with their monopoly. They will put up a bit of a fight.

WB you should've come clean earlier, its a grand idea but its too early yet, schools dont have access to pcs that could cover everyone and public schools aint open to new stuff even if its an improvement.

Private schools? Maybe, but its too early for the idea to work in Poland.

Actually this kind of thing has to go through ministry of education first so its advisable to hit the private sector first anyway.

Actually, WBs scheme could prove to be a unique selling point for the elite private schools in Poland.

I am tired and am watching the results of the Brit election come in, but, parental involvement is also a unique selling point. Most, decent parents, would love to be able to get involved and see how little Pawel or Magda is getting along with her studies. If WBs database allowed parental log in, this scheme would prove to be very popular indeed.

Obviously, WB, would have to invest a shed load of dough before he would see a return on his investment. But if he got the right sort of people involved, he would be sitting on a gold mine in five years time.

I would too and have worked many ****** jobs in my life but teaching simply didnt make me happy, neither does it make most of my friends in the industry happy, they do it cos they havent the motivation to get out of the rut.

Well said.

on line education

Good luck getting that through the polish school board system:)

The Ministry is also very tied up in private schools, so there's potentially problems there. I'm sure WB's done his homework and knows about the mindless inflexibility of the Ministry though!

This sort of thing would go down a storm in the medical field but I suspect the likes of Emis and System one are eying up Poland as one of their next markets. I've had doctors go to the UK and be astonished by the level of computerisation in General practice and most seem to think its a great idea.

Poland might be a bit too of a backwater country right now to introduce such things into early schooling system. High schooling - universities and polytechenics already use similar systems of remote education. If you're talking about public schools for kids they are full of old teachers who are gonna be hardly convinced to the new technology.

Take a look at healthcare, the NFZ electornic card system has been introduced only in Silesia it worked here several years already - it's better than it was and the project succeeded. Despite that most of Poland is still living by the old rules that allow favourism and bribery. I remember when the electronic patient card system was being introduced it was one big pain for all the medical staff, public and private alike - and it is still backward because of the faulty law in Poland - despite all the databases there's still order to keep all the data on paper, bollocks.

On the other hand it might be high time to start, I'm pretty sure there are single schools somewhere in Poland which have already implemented such system on their own.

It might b
