Which is why the Yanks, quite rightly, want a piece of the action.

Without any doubt. The viewing figures for the last World Cup final were 3.572 billion. half the population of the world.

The figures for their 'world series' last year were 11.8 million.

Is one of the most difficult sports to play if not the hardest. Does England have a Hockey team? Its probably too rough for the Brits. You cant play Basketball either:) lol


Same in the USA nobody watches soccer and only children play it.

Lots. Every high school that has girl pupils has a girls hockey team.

The same with the girls' sports rounders and netball, generally played with different names in America by men like Babe Ruth and Shaquille O'Neal.

The cricket team; I was good at that. And never saw the point of rugby. About football? No, the competition was strong since the very rough working class comp I went to in a pit village has produced a few minor stars who were there at the time. Some big ones locally though. Kevin Keegan was a fair few years older than me and went to a school not too far away and Billy Bremner lived within walking distance.

If you don't know those names, so what. Many of the 3.5 billion who watched the last world cup do.

Boys at schools didn't play hockey; that was only for girls.

I'm looking forward to tonight's match, England v some other place. Should be well worth watching.

England vs. USA, who will be the winner?

The bookmakers strongly say England.

Bet365 has England on 1/2, USA on 6/1 and a draw on 10/3.

If you're more used to the Polish betting odds system, that's England on 1.5, USA on 7 and a draw on 4.33.

I would have to agree as England is in contention to win it all.
The game I would like to see is France vs. Brazil.
Both of those teams are in contention to win it all also.
Like all sports however, there are just so many variables from bad calls to injuries.
All the USA can do is hope for an upset against England which would be no real surprise to me.

England aren't in the top three according to the experts' predictions unfortunately.

Fortunately though, they're often wrong.

Brazil are the favourites.

That really does surprise me.
