Football World Cup '22

I doubt most of the world knows or cares even what colours the Polish flag is, however if somebody was going to depict it, you'd hope that they'd get it right as a simple matter of respect.

In Africa, when I'm asked where I live and say Poland, most people ask where it is (or ask if it's part of r*SSia) and some ask if it's a country. Nevertheless, if they were making a strip cartoon about flags, they'd probably spend 10 seconds on google to see what the flag looked like.

You really don't have to get all agitated and start bringing Poland.
It's not a case of a mistake. The image of England is mingled with UK so much it's basically one. And in a way it's understandable as in many events it is a one and in some it separates.

Second, that comic is based on recognition. People are supposed to know which ball is which country. I don't know how many people would recognise England's flag legal one e.g. Wales.

Who's 'all' agitated? And this forum is after all, about Poland.


Almost never in sport except the olympics, as you know. Weird that the cartoonist didn't know, since he/she does make a lot of (largely unfunny) cartoons about flags.

Doubt it. They have seen it but as to make a connection if they saw it in the cartoon.

On the top of the screen during every match and waving during every international football match since TV was invented.

They're at the bottom of their table and packing their bags ready for their flight home after Friday's match. Still, at least they've got one point ond only a -2 goal difference.
