Trump, a Constitutionalist?? As yet haven't seen much evidence of that, other than that his staff have probably briefed him in depth as to what it says.

Doubt the dude's even read it, or if he has, he hasn't understood what he's read:-)

He's a polarizer and a divider who's yet to admit he's wrong.
Now, who wants to be around somebody who always thinks they're right?

His predecessor read it but used it as toilet paper. But always for a noble cause like DACA, so it must be OK.

Now, who wants to be around somebody who always thinks they're right?

Would you rather be around somebody who always thinks he is wrong? Or who can only preach with that MLK professorial tone that would drive a monkey nuts?

Poland is much more captive to Russia than Germany as far as gas is concerned.

Yes, but Poland being a transit country for the Russian gas was somewhat secure from Russia using it to blackmail Poland. The North stream made even that fragile security null and void. Here what European solidarity is worth for Germany lit mean less than 20% of their gas imports

. I doubt German decision makers are not aware of the fact that they by building and now extending the north stream pipeline they hand over to Russia a weapon that Putin can use with impunity against all of the Eastern Europe. Including those countries of the region that are a part of the EU.

So, Germany are being a captive of Russian by making shady and questionable deals with Putin.
To sum it up - Trump is right in his assessment.

There IS actually a middle ground, Rich! Why so extreme? Why not, "Yes, my fellow electorate! I was wrong in my assessment....." instead of his inane battle cry every time someone has the gall (LOL) to disagree with His Highness, "FAKE NEWS!", "FAKE NEWS!" till it's coming out of our ears!

was somewhat secure from Russia using it to blackmail Poland.

Isn't it the other way around? When I remember it correctly the gas was once stopped because Ukraine had a dispute with Russia about the price...That gas crisis in 2009, which did cut off many european countries from the russian gas, in mid winter nonetheless!

Nord Stream was the consequence, and it's not about to be used to blackmail Poland but rather to avoid another blackmail by Poland/Ukraine!

How the healthy, open-minded, culturally enriched, "diverse" and politically correct (i.e. soaked to the bone marxist) protest Trumps' visit to the UK:

I doubt that...even at home many Republicans can't stand Trump.

Who told you that, sources please? No way, I live here and only see Trumps popularity growing. There is a lot of fake news and misinformation trying to discredit Trump for any fictitious reason. The Dems would rather have a nuclear war with NK before they will give him an ounce of credit.

Lefty Dems are the ones losing voters with these crazy politicians that are now calling to abolish ICE and for open borders. The majority of the America population does not want this happening at all! Its being forced upon us by the Dems for nefarious purposes.

Im predicting a landslide victory for Trump in 2020

were disgusted that they treated the president fo the USA which such disrespect.

Im hearing a lot of backlash in the USA by the way they are disrespecting our President.

It is a complete humiliation for the UK and the Brits they really should be ashamed of themselves by these actions.

don't be fooled he knows all the tricks to get what he wants

Im inclined to agree with your analysis. It's a negotiation tactic and hes steamrolling it across the globe to Americas benefit.

Its about time!

All he`s really asking for is a level playing field and stop the unfair advantages other countries have against us.

You must be blind. Trump's net approval ratings have declined in every state since he took office.

Do you have any facts or just the usual parroted talking points from MSNBC? Of course not.

You better come you something better than that if you think youre going to win in November or in the forthcoming 2020 election.

What ever happened to all the collusion or was obstruction hoaxes and the "Storms a comin"?? hahaha!!!

22 million dollars the Dems spend of our hard earned tax payer money on these witch hunts, its a national disgrace!

Its all about hate from the radical left

How the healthy, open-minded, culturally enriched, "diverse" and politically correct

This is exactly why I voted for Trump! I dont want to be like Europe either.

Can you imagine if little children seen these disgusting acts?

I think they are using Trumps visit just to elevate their agenda, along with the other hate fulled groups.

As mentioned before, Im believing now, the respectable Britons stayed at home or just went about their daily lives instead of participating in this nonsense.

The Mayor of London is totally unprofessional and biased as well, lets mention him here also.

Im predicting a landslide victory for Trump in 2020

If the Dems get out good 'ol Hillary it might happen. Have the Democrats really nobody else???

hard Germany works to rise the usage of renewables..

Well, that well might be but meanwhile some sources claim that at the moment Russian gas constitutes about 60% of the Germany power production.

I don't say that you're wrong here but I would rather trust some other source than BBC news.com. They procured they share of fake news all right.

Another issue that makes me think your sources got it wrong is the north stream. Why go to such a length and costs (building on a seabed generate huge cost) if as you claim that gas is less than 20%. They must be thinking about increasing import hence insistence on north stream 2. ALL this hard work on the alterative 'green' technologies must be in vain. It has not progressed much. So as a prospect for a feasible solution for power production on the industrial scale, doesn't incur much faith in German businesses. If they are willing to invest so much capital into underwater pipeline that also is highly questionable from a political point of view.

All that talk by Trump is not because he cares for Germany's energy problems..

No he doesn't. He does care about USA. That include cost of NATO and Germany pumping money and technology into its main enemy in this part of the world.

As he said, you cannot have a cake and eat it at the same time.

nothing political about it.

Keep telling yourself that. Russian military capability has been build mainly on its ore exports. While former Soviet colonies are trying to break free from the Russian grip, Germany willing is waltzing into it, saying - it is only a good business opportunity. Nah, that business opportunity let Putin invade Georgia and Ukraine.

I for once refuse to believe that German's elites are that dumb as not to see it. It is something else - they want a cake and what to eat it too - I would call it greed. I guess they must call it a pragmatism. Nobody called them on this to the date - so they were squeezing the lemon for all the juice it got.

Well, America called your bluff - time to call the party off.

t is a complete humiliation for the UK and the Brits they really should be ashamed of themselves by these actions.

Oh stop crying like a little girl. Trump is polarizing not only USA but most countries that have a public opinion.

a level playing field and stop the unfair advantages other countries have against us.

Oh and now you are a victim are you? Nobody forced those policies and practices on the USA. They done it to themselves. Weren't fair. Hell, pull those congressmen and politicians and parties which done it into account.

If you give out all your candies to other kids and now you want to take them back - cause you have little left yourself. Don't expect flowers.

Fair or not fair.

meanwhile some sources claim that at the moment Russian gas constitutes about 60% of the Germany power production.

What kind of sources? This is simply another brazen lie that Trump made up during the Nato meeting.

Here is a site from 2017 which analyzes the German power consumption.

cleanenergywire.org/factsheets/germanys-energy-consumption-and-power-mix-charts

Gas is far from the main source.

They must be thinking about increasing import hence insistence on north stream 2.

Of course they are. Germany currently imports m gas from 3 countries: Norway, the Netherlands and Russia. The gas fields of the first two countries will soon run out, and Russia will take over part of their delivery, which would still keep their overall influence neglible. This kind of economic dependence was crucial for keeping the peace during the Cold War and the peaceful dissolution of the SU.

He does care about USA.

Indeed, this is all about the USA. Trump does not care over Russia, if he really was concetned he would not lie about the true scale of Russian gas exports. He simply wants Europe to buy the more expensive American gas.

This whole discussion might be outdated tomorrow anyway. Let us just see what kind of concessions Trump will offer Putin.

You know....doing what's good for Germany...**** the allies!
Ironside 47 | 9,261
15 Jul 2018  #78
Well, but that what Germany had been doing here. That is the problem. I mean either you're a part of NATO or not. If you're there certain number of things you shouldn't be doing - i.e. strengthen economically a number one adversary in Europe of the said alliance. Unless you're a trojan horse of Russia that is.

It goes beyond normal way the allied states compete with each other. I guess Germany could get away with it because no one in USA was really bothered about all those details. Besides all countries of the NATO were doing it to some or other extent i.e. making money on deals with Russia.. None went so far though as Germany.

Is that course is a really good thing for Germany? Could it work well? In a shout run - possibly.
I don't believe however that so clause ties with Russian are beneficial for the Germany in a long run. I could be wrong of curse (what do I know?).

IF however German elites hold opinion that it is a very beneficial for their country (not only for them) to have this kind of close ties with Russia. In that case they should have consider possibility that such a stance is not compatible with their NATO obligations and membership.

I fear this discussion is already wasted.

Trump just called in an actual interview with CBS the EU, Russia and China as enemies.

Europe, the EU, will have to react to that. NATO as we know it is at an end. Also the world trade...that means everything will change, the cards will be reshuffled...

For Europe it won't make any sense anymore to stay beside the US, being called and treated as enemies. So IMHO our whole relationship with Russia and also China will change too.

It makes sense for these "enemies" to become allies....especially economically, but maybe even militarily. Europe alone has no chance, and now that the US is giving us the boot, the best solution is to look elsewhere...

So, all this talk about "traiterous pipelines to the enemy" will soon become obsolete, I believe!

Unless that was the end game play of Germany. The EU without NATO and America.

The only ones that are crying are you Eurps that used Trumps visit to push forward their liberal agenda. It reminded me of an antifa rally, same idiots that dont even know what they are protesting about, like little sheep...baaaaaaa

Btw, those deals were made by weak lib politicians and Trump is changing everything, making it fair, too bad for cheating Germany:)

Europe to buy the more expensive American gas.

Fake news! We can sell NG to Europe at a much lower cost than Russia and break their entire economy if we wanted too. Perhaps, Trump might just do that?

What a bunch of clowns you eat up all the fake news propaganda they can throw at you! lol

GO TRUMP!!! MAGA!!!!!!

You're an idiot. How many protesters against Trump were and are in the USA. That all neo-Marxist/progressives/PC (you call them liberals). That idea had been first introduced on American universities and then spread to Europe.

It is not a problem of Europeans versus Americans it is a problem of progressives versus normal people - got it now?
Its rather simple but lost on you. Lots of you Yanks seemingly are not able to walk and chew gum at the same time.

Half those ppl didn't care about Trump at all, but youre too stupid to see who's pulling the strings.

Its all part of Trumps negotiating style. Just wait for a few weeks and dont be surprised if there is a possible new deal.

Yanks seemingly are not able to walk and chew gum at the same time.

And you idiot Europeans let your countries and heritage become destroyed through Political Correctness and refugee invasion.

The sick and asymmetrical parent-child relationship between the US and Europe should be terminated immediately and NATO dissolved.

With two nuclear powers of its own, Europe can take the diapers off, stand on its own, and send uncle home.

Or, if Europe wants to play grownup games, Europe should have an army in the US, Canada and Mexico.

You do realize there is no united states of Europe in Europe do you? There is no European policy. Also Europeans has no the same connotation as 'Americans'.

Beside in other sense than geographical Americans are Europeans too. Less and less of them thought.
