Referendum to remove Gronkiewicz-Waltz fails in Warsaw - turnout not high enough

She should have taken out her purse, and pay the meagre entrance fee to the park by herself , which I think is 6 PLN ?

And everybody with her? Should they have also been forced to pay out because some jobsworth has decided he's going to get himself a great story to tell all his friends and family?

Setting an example never hurts any politician.

Not giving in unquestioningly and immediately to the petty demands pointless bureaucrats is a good example to set.

Nope. Once again I do not agree with you. I abstained from the referendum and as you should know I am anti PIS.
Bus this guy was doing his job and got intimidated for that. I despise that kind of behaviour from HGW's court entourage.
Yes they should have paid, every one of them. Shame on them. From what I know from my friends in Wilanów, she and her entourage acted as Louis XIV's court.

"Who can touch me?"
Not the way to go.

Interesting article this morning in GW, concerning how money was spent on the referendum.

How much does it cost a referendum in Warsaw? PiS has issued the most, PO - the least

Nearly 400 thousand zł gave PiS. Guział - the initiator of the campaign gave 200 thousand. Least gave PO - 70 thousand.

A few days before the referendum in Warsaw 800 thousand of Varsovians found leaflets in their mailboxes with President Stefan Starzyński or two mortar rebuilding the city on top and the slogan: "They dreamed of the great Warsaw". For the printing and distribution paid PiS. It cost 112 thousand zł

warszawa.gazeta.pl/warszawa/1,34862,14784556,Ile_kosztowalo_referendum_w_Warszawie__PiS_wydal_najwiecej_.html#TRLokWarsTxt

PIS: 400.000 PLN
Guział: 200.000 PLN
PO: 70.000 PLN

The worst of course is that the taxpayer had to fork out 3.000.000 PLN for this referendum.
Question: Where did Guział get his money from? He initiated this joke, so I think it is only fair he should pay the bill.

Good thing is that PIS has a hole in its bank account and nothing to show it for.

It's certainly a figure that I'll have in mind when I cast my vote at the election next year.

It was allegedly started as a citizen initative, but there were no real grounds for such action. She hasn't been the best President of Warsaw ever, but quite a few of the problems were caused by the previous administration.

I read a very interesting article by someone in the SLD that pointed out that PiS - again - cooperated with Ruch Palikota and that this cooperation was incredibly distasteful to many voters - even those that wanted HGW out. SLD voters in particular were rather unhappy with it - hence they stayed away, particularly once it became obvious that the refendum had become a "vote for PiS" rather than "remove the President".

Good thing is that PIS has a hole in its bank account and nothing to show it for.

PiS are already suffering badly financially - and I'm willing to bet they spent more than 400k on this. If it wasn't for that SKOK bank, PiS would be really in trouble.

Isn't that the same one which provided the funds guarantee that the ever delightful priest from Torun needed to get his TV station onto the digital multiplex?
