AFAIK Poles are the best integrated group in Germany, and marriages between Poles and Germans are the most successful intermarriages in Germany. Germany also already hosts the second biggest Polonia in the world, and you never heard of any trouble.

You're probably right, but when any group start getting bigger there's always some pr1ck who'll use it as an excuse. I hope it doesn't happen, of course...

marriages between Poles and Germans are the most successful intermarriages in Germany

These are general marriages between ppl from Silesia (citizens of Germany and Poland).

Polish women outnumbered (more than double ) other countries in mix marriages with German citizens with no migration background. This shows that Polish women were the most succesful in marriages with German men , who had no migration background ( having only German ancestry) . The poll , carried out in 2007 , shows that the number of total marriages with Polish women was 55 000 ,while the next country Romania had only 20 000 , This trend of German- Polish marriages is rising .

I think there is no question that many Poles will go and work there. They just need to find a place where their skills can be employed to good effect.

It will be interesting to watch how the Turks react....

I predict they will be overtaken by the more successfull Poles in every aspect of work and life in Germany...I wonder whom they will blame then...

But what do they have beyond kebab shops? In what way will Poles have to compete?

I dunno so I ask, how are the Turks doing in Germany BB? If they're so numerous and have been there since the 50s shouldn't they be in general successful? Or is there unwillingness to assimilate hurting them?

the turks run various types of shops.

Poles might enter business at a higher level

So it should be, but no they aren't! (It's all the Germans fault of course).

Integration...the jobs...kids in school...the whole bruhaha, but especially the jobs (and I don't mean greengrocery or Dönershops).

Yes as always. Germans are trying to be equal and politically correct yet it's them who create their little "communities" inside Germany. It's not even a generation or two they seem to have a mentality a hundred years back. As in the other thread it showed that the intermarriage rate of Turks with Germans is only at 9%.

intermarriage rate of Turks with Germans is only at 9%.

Yeah...it's more like:

Turk papa: WHAT??? You have a Kartoffel boyfriend? You want to marry him? No way can you marry a non-muslim...and you can't marry without your family's nod....or You are no longer my daughter!

German papa: WHAT??? You want to marry this islamist terrorist who can't even speak german??? He will abuse and mistreat you and when you don't obey his family will kill you! You have to become a muslim! DON'T!!! Pleaaaaaaase...

Our two peoples have not really that much chemistry between us...

People should just leave stereotypes out and let themselves get close to another, like normal human beings.

Well...our Turks are often still quite religious and won't allow a marriage to a non-muslim and demand from the german girl conversion, that is quite common.

There is a reason for the 9% only after so many decades of living together...Islam has a bad image with the Germans!

It's because most Muslims to date are devout Muslims and Christians are non practicing Christians.

Entering of Turkey in EU with 100%certainty means another 2-3 millions Turks in Germany (because they have already family in Germany).

BB,is Germany so stupid to let Turkey in EU?

Never...

And Germany can't let Turkey in alone because of her decision, the decision has to be made unanimously by ALL members...and if that question should really arrive one day then there will be a plebiscite about that in more than one member country...can't see that happen.

That's correct, if you have the potential to accept or maybe tolerate/like/love someone, but in Germany that is still not the fact. Especially now with the crisis going by and Germany consolidated there is no reason for tolerance.

The recent success of the green party was not based on that issue but more on the hype/fear of nuclear energy.

That what in the 70's started with the 1st Gastarbeiter was quite successful, but globalism, changes in society and of course media presence changed that completely.

Now Germany is on the 1st place tolerant to itself. ;)

2-3 millions Turks in Germany

Silent force. ;)

The young Turks (educated folk) and even government officials say it officially that they are only interested in the EU for benefits. Here for French tv.

That what in the 70's started with the 1st Gastarbeiter was quite successful

See ... the guy who calls himself German, obviously doesn't know "his" country's history. Or the old man forgot. The first "Gastarbeiter" were Italians from 1956 onwards, after the first "Anwerbeabkommen" (or recruitment agreement) between the then Bundesrepublik Deutschland and Italy of December 20th 1955.

This one was followed by similar agreements with Spain and Greece (1960), Turkey (1962), Marocco (1963), Portugal (1964, the millionth "Gastarbeiter", Armando Rodrigues de Sá, a carpenter, came from there and was congratulated on the Cologne-Deutz railway station and was given a bunch of flowers, a diploma and a Zundapp moped), Tunisia (1965) and Yugoslavia (1968).

In 1973, after 4 million foreign workers had already settled in Germany there was actually a stop in recruitment because of the oil crisis.

Ah well ... I guess we are used to his factual inaccuracies.
