It's not a monop if others are free to compete against them.
Its not but they would prefer if it was, dont Wal-Mart have a majority market share in the US? In any case the big boys are all competing against each other in developed countries. Wal-Mart as Tescos and all the others do knock out most small businesses within a 10 mile radius. This is the market share theyre after. OK they sell many brand products at discount prices, but lets take fresh produce, meat, Fruit and veg the levels of quality especially in the meat sector are shocking. This is monopolization. When all the small local guys ahve gone and theires only a choice of poor vs even poorer then what will we do. Thats where its heading.
Maybe you should read Plastic Pole's posts testaments in this thread and see that a WM coming to an area oftentimes isn't the end of the world and actually helps the area as a whole.
It may help some areas in the short term for business goals but lets not get confused with the big picture here.
Much of WM's food is local/ regional (which will benefit Polish farmers)
Until they start pulling their pants down once the farmers have no choice. In the US you have what four large beef production companies which account for 95% of the beef sold in the US, sounds like a monopoly to me.
