Genocide is an attempt to kill all the members of an ethnic/racial group.... (holocaust and Rwanda and Armenians and Pontic Greeks in Turkey are examples)
Ethnocide is the attempt to destroy the language/culture of an ethnic group, it's what the English tried to do in Ireland (with a middling level of success) and what russia has always tried to do with Ukraine (also).
Cambodia was an attempt at ethnocide (destroying all vestiges of uniquely Khmer culture in favor of deracinated Maoism) but was carried out by Cambodians.
In modern terms 'genocide' seems to be blanched of meaning and those saying Israel is committing genocide simply don't understand the word or are lying.

Genocide is the attempt to destroy in whole or in part an ethnic or racial group. That is exactly what Israel is doing in Gaza, making the means of existing in an area impossible by removing the means to survive. But you don't have to take my word for it just listen to statements by Israeli government officials and their supporters like Kier Starmer or Donald Trump. If you still think the deliberate destruction of hospitals, schools, universities places of habitation etc are trivial perhaps you may believe the UN.
When we move to the West Bank and watch the unmitigated terrorism unleashed on the civilian population by an illegal occupation which breaches all and every international law, we don't describe that as genocide. These illegal actions are supported by the same people objecting to Russia's invasion of Ukraine ie the US and the EU. Why are these two things linked? Because the only objective is making money from dead Palestinians and dead Ukrainians and Russians.
Ireland is profiting from both wars as they are home to most European entities of US terror companies plus they were until very recently the clearing house for Israeli financial institutions.
@jon357 Russia unfortunately had Yeltsin, a drunk opportunist who gained his position by happenstance. He tried the most corrupt shock therapy in history at th3 behest of his US advisors. The reason Russia has been targeted is because for a long time they had, and still do, the ability to annihilate the US. @mafketis Brilliant, we can all make up our own definitions. With no agreed consensus on anything there is no possibility of censure meaningful or otherwise. Russia is correct in its actions, Israel is legitimately killing children and destroying a health service and Iran can continue to murder protesters. The big winner is US tech and terror companies.

According to Maf any action they wish cos they can produce their own definition/explanation to suit the circumstance. The only get out clause left is US exceptionalism ie the US (and client states) can do as it wishes but everyone they dont like has to do as they are told.
I'm neither especially pro- or anti- Israel. Two peoples want the same land and not enough on either side are willing to share. What happens in that kind of situation.

If Russia were to attack NATO member Poland, now would be a good time. The US is bankrupt and almost all its missiles and other military equipment are in Israel now. Poland is on its own. Hopefully, Russia won't decide on a direct attack, but watch for Ukraine and its possible false flag to get Poland and other EU countries involved.
