they have concluded that our assistance is no longer required. In that case, such assistance..

They calculated that Poland will talk smack and will do nothing else, so they can safely ignore us.

It really is as simple as that.

Talk to your party boss about it.

Exactly. Now, it's for us to show them that they miscalculated.

If you insist on acting like a retard, I suppose there's little I can do to stop you. *yaaaawn*

Who will show them and what? Tusk? Sikorski? Kamysz? Czarzasty?

Who will show them

Does it matter who will do it? Governments in Bulgaria, Czechia, Hungary, and Slovakia have shown that it is possible to pursue a reasonable policy toward Ukraine, so why shouldn't a Polish government be able to do the same?

What???????

OP Torq  43 | 2788
22 Jun 2026   #37
What?

Providing humanitarian assistance, shelter, and social benefits (such as education, healthcare, and work permits) to Ukrainian refugees, without directly channeling large-scale financial aid or supplies to the Ukrainian government, or weakening their own armed forces by depleting artillery ammunition stocks, for example - especially given that Ukraine, apparently, no longer requires assistance in these areas.

without directly channeling large-scale financial aid or supplies to the Ukrainian government

That and:
- supporting r*SSia,
- blocking funds allocated by the rest of the EU
- actively demanding an end to energy sanctions
- importing orc oil
- undermining NATO while being a part of it
- maintaining links with r*SSia that provide Putler with political leverage
- channelling funds from Moscow towards election interference, orc propaganda and hybrid warfare against the west including Poland.

Were they kicked out of the EU because of that?

undermining NATO while being a part of it

Were they kicked out of NATO?

Besides, that was during the Orban era. Today, their foreign policy is more balanced, yet still more commonsensical than Polish unconditional support for Ukraine which undermined the capabilities of our own military and burdened the country with even greater debt. And all of this was done in deference to the prevailing myth that Russia is poised to attack NATO.

The EU and NATO are too scared to kick any country out and in any case, Orban's days were numbered and normality is being restored there and will be in Slovakia.

ussia is poised to attack NATO.

It's not as if they haven't carried out a chemical weapons attack in aa NATO member state, is it, or burnt down any shopping centres in Poland.

...or the railway sabotage in Poland, or attack on the ammunition depot in Czechia, or the unarmed drone incursions.

But that's pretty much all that they can do: low-intensity sabotage and disruption. Any open military conflict with NATO would almost certainly end in an embarrassing defeat for them.

That is more than enough if you're the person killed.

This is certainly true, however the threat as a whole has to be managed; pandering to them like Orban or Fico is the opposite of that.

I know you're right, Jonno. It's just that... I can't shake this ominous feeling that we may be, as the saying goes, nursing a viper in our bosom.

Why is Zelenskyy still in the office? His term has ended, right? Why does he appear so willing to accommodate the demands of UPA-venerating fascists? Why is he short and mustachioed? Call me irrational, as I can't quite put my finger on it, but I have a bad feeling about all of this.

It's there, isn't it. The bigger danger though is elsewhere.

No. The Ukrainian Constitution forbids elections during wartime.

He has to deal with them at the same time as winning a war. Their nationalistic rage is a resource to be used.

A chemical weapons attack! Right...

A British homeless man, reached into a trash can for a discarded bottle of what he thought was expensive perfume. He brought it back as a "gift", to his girlfriend at the time. She sprayed it on her arm, and died several days later from Novichok poisoning.

A CHEMICAL WEAPONS ATTACK.

-//-

No mention that Russia was trying to kill a turncoat member of its own security forces.

No mention that Britain or the United States would have done the exact same thing if they had managed to lay their hands on some Kim Philby or Guy Burgess.

burnt down any shopping centres in Poland.

Definite proof that preparations are underway for an invasion of Europe.

Yes, with novichok.

homeless

Is that relevant? Are homeless people worth less than non-homeless people in Putlerland?

if they had managed to lay their hands on some Kim Philby or Guy Burgess.

That wouldn't exactly have been hard since their locations and routines were well enough known for decades. Don't judge other cultures by the murderous standards of the orcs.

Definite proof

Terrorism.

I think that despite lessons from history, you believe, that NATO will send their sons, to die defending Poland, especially NATO members from rotten Western Europe like Spain, Italy, England, France...... and the rest of them. They need to feed meat grinder in their defense, not the other way around.
If by any chance you see the fault in my way of thinking I got the bridge in Brooklyn to sell at the discount price.

There's the rub - I'm not so sure it is bigger.

As a matter of fact, I don't believe that. And I still think that Russian invasion of Poland would be repelled, even without foreign troops in Poland.

For next 10 years sure. I become more uncertain about next 20-50 years. Russians have a habit to come back in greater numbers and larger sledgehammers (metaphorically speaking) as time goes on if pissed off enough by their opponents more then by their leadership.

Just compare how the German armies behaved pre ww1 and post ww1, during ww2 towards Russians. The more savage and inhumane a foe is compared to their metaphorical Boyars. The more unrelenting and motivated they become.

One can see it in Ukraine too in Ukrainians, no matter that they have different nationalities. In this they are excactly the same. The more savage attacks Russian side did, the more hardlined and motived the Ukrainians behaved when they were uncertain and fearing for the future. Now they have become a wrecking ball like the red army was in 1943

It would still be wrong. Two wrongs. Why ruminate over wrongs that haven't even happened?

This is done though. Wrong too, and although it probably seemed doable to President Zelenskyy at the time he probably regrets it now. President Nawrocki could probably have been a bit more subtle too. We should never give in to the loudest and most extreme voices. Call this a day now.

Time to let it diffuse, get on with defeating the evil empire and argue later.

Stop banging on about pointless semiotics, how about a Volyhn/Galicia permament exhibiton at the VIP terminal showing all the graphic photos, so these ethnic purists and the jew can see the reality of the past they are glorifying. In response Ukraine can have a exhibition about the evils of polish imperialism at lviv railway.

It will be part of the truth and reconciliation process which will lead to a new treaty and harmonising of shared history.

Part of the issue is National Memory.... Poland's national memory was controlled by the USSR for 44 years and Poles hated it. Ukrainian national memory was controlled by russians/soviets for far far longer.

In Poland the UPA is only associated with Volhyn but in Ukraine it's honored for fighting the soviets.

Not being able to understand that the same people/organizations can have different meanings to different people (inability to distinguish self from others) is not a good sign.

They're not fiighting to be free of russia so that Poland can control their national memory and throw thought-terminating cliches about "Banderites" at them.

Especially since russians still worship Stalin, who killed far more Poles than Ukrainians ever did...

Some army unit in Germany can associate Waffen SS with fighting the Soviets rather than with atrocities against civilians. Can they name themselves "Heroes of Waffen SS"? You didn't answer the question.
Besides, to finish with this mental retardation once and for all:

- it is estimated that UPA - since its foundation until late 1950s, killed about 8,000 Soviet soldiers and officials; so they weren't all soldiers but for the sake of argument let's assume that all of those 8,000 killed by UPA were armed soldiers;

- this means that for every Soviet killed in combat, UPA commited genocide against 15 Polish civilians, little children and pregnant women were killed with utmost cruelty;

- it means 15-1 ratio, which translates into the fact that 94% of those killed by UPA were civilians;

- below I attach a graph for retards who cannot imagine what 94% means, and who claim that an armed formation whose victims were in 94% civilians can be associated with anything else than genocide.

Of course, the 94% is only for Poles. UPA also murder Jews in droves, Russians and even Ukrainians who they suspected of cooperating with the Soviets; they were genocidal sickf*cks. So, the real ratio of soldiers killed to civilians murdered is closer to 20-1.

Not being able to understand that...

... genocidal animals whose victims were in 94% civilians should not be named "heroes" (in any civilized country) is not a good sign.

Mafketis is generously willing to forget about the genocide, because some Ukrainian army unit who is fighting the Russians requested to be named "Heroes of UPA". I wonder if Maf would be so willing to whitewash the genocide against Jews, because Waffen SS fought Soviets too?

I wonder what should we call an "army" whose victims were in 94% civilians. Mafketis calls them heroes.

So, if any genocide whitewashing motherf*cker tells you "oh, but we associate UPA with fighting the Soviets, not with murdering civilians - show them the graph below: 94% murdered civilians, 6% killed Soviet soldiers.

Yes. People in Ukraine know very well what that particular part of the UPA did in Volhyn and they don't like it either. Ukrainians are not generally Banderysci. The ones that committed the atrocities were only part of the very disorganised resistance during a terrible time.

It was the same with Petliura. He wasn't especially antisemitic for his time however his army was made up of groups of lads commanded by small town army people often with appalling views; that's what he had to work with and although he did his best to rein them in, atrocities happened.

They're not fiighting to be free of russia so that Poland can

In western Ukraine Poland wasn't always their friend.

They've had to struggle for a national identity as much as or more than Poles and there are some of the same cultural factors about national identity in play here and of course Ukraine is far less homogeneous and this is also a part of their cultural narrative.

Ukrainian army unit who is fighting the Russians requested to be named "Heroes of UPA".

At least they didn't ask to be called "Heroes of UPA-B".
