Hopefully we'll get gas from other sources soon, Lithuania is up for it.

It is a definite option :) However, Poland is doing quite ok for itself at the moment.

I wonder what Stadler and Waldorf will do to reward Poland's gesture of sending well-trained firemen to help out.

Really great. It is the worst thing to be dependant on one source.

There is no however. Because if there will be not "quite ok for itself" when Russia cuts the gas off, then you, Seanus, won't be the one to dig the hole in the ground in the middle of the winter time to lay a pipe-line through your garden. It is always better to have more than one source, especially for such things as gas and oil.

I wish my country was more diversified than it is or better to say is not. The thing is this forum is about Poland and I expressed my opinion that it would be great for Poland to find more sources of gas. If you can't pass the barrier of our discussion about Klitschko and Golota and primitively try to divert me from supporting of what you basically was saying two posts higher, then I feel really sorry for you. LOL

I hope that's sarcasm, surely you can't possibly be still mad about that. I like Ukrainians i have nothing against them or Russians (not including their government of course) i say what i believe or know is true, i criticize Poland also. I think Tusk is an idiot, and Komorowski looks like a dumb mule, just turn him a certain direction kick him in the butt and he'll go.

Poland sends firefighters to help Russia and Russia sends Poland a hefty gas bill ;)

I think it's a normal human reaction - we are helping our neighbors and not Putin or Gazprom.
Sympathy and support to people fighting the fire is by far better than never ending barking, hatred, and schizophrenia.

Poland sent 155 firefighters and 50 fire-fighting vehicles to help put out the wildfires in Russia

Would Russia do the same if it was in Poland?

Good for Poland, but let's be real....if Poland were in this situation, Russia wouldn't even think about helping....

Unless of course they NEEDED fire, then Putin would be ever so kind to jack up the prices of Gazprom through the roof....

if that feeling won't change among he young generation on both sides, the countries never move on...

The Russians were quick enough to send teams to Poland after the last bad floods....

But hey , lets keep the second war resentment going as long as possible...It would be a terrible day in Poland if the Poles were not able to blame somebody else for the state of their country , or their lives...or anything thats not right...

I took this photo 5 days ago. There was such a thick smoke in the street and i couldn't breathe and i couldn't see any subjects in 10 steps.I shut the windows in my flat but it didn't help.

I tried to buy a mask in the drugstore but i couldn't find it anywhere. Our town wasn't ready
for such difficult situation.))At any drugstore's door i saw i sign-"We don't sell masks!"
And someone of you asked what is the reason of all of this fires?I can answer-it is our relation to our environment in 95 % cases. Our forests looks like a big Chernobil, especially which situated closer to towns and village. And we absolutely don't understand who must to clean up there. We pay a taxes but our money goes to the pocket of different men.

And that people who likes to take a rest in the forest, why don't they clean up after themselves?A lake in the forest,a dozens people taking a rest and a great deal of empty bottles and packages-this is a usual picture of a present days.

I'm russian,but i was born in other country,and i'd relocate 2 Russia 5 years ago,
but with every new day i understand what it is not that country where i want to live.
What about polish firefighters-so i want to thank them for their help to us.
Any questions?

There are so many things that make me smile and make me happy in this world, but reading that Poland are helping Russia had made me realise that even deep wounds can be healed..Russia are suffering so much and Poland have gone some way to help..cudos! My prayers are with Russia and hope the fires die down and those affected will get the help they need x

I agree.

Poland and Russia may have there differences but at the end of the day, the way I see it, there are innocent Russian people suffering and dying in Russia now because of these tragic fires. These innocent Russians never did anything to Polish people, so its only natural that average Polish people try to help them out. It comes down to human beings helping out other human beings in need.

This is not a situation that happens only in Russia...People throw rubbish in the forests of Poland , and in the UK too......

This is a picture taken in one of the villages hit by the fire , south of Moscow..

At any drugstore's door i saw i sign-"We don't sell masks!"

I've foreseen that and yesterday before leaving for Moscow bought them in Montenegro. It's not that bad here though... I expected something similar to what we experienced two weeks ago.

Does this Russian woman feel any different to a Polish woman who has had her home destroyed by a flood....?

People are people , and deserve to be helped in time of need...

The Russian and Polish governments may play silly games with each other , but i suspect the people of both countries would be more than willing to help each other...

It's not how the Russian soldiers felt in '44. They would not help a Pole.
What do you think is worse: a fire or flood? Just curious.

if you mean in Warsaw i suspect the Russian soldiers halted their advance due to orders direct from Stalin , rather than a personal decision...

disobeying orders in the Russian army was not a good career move....
