KALININGRAD !!!

The city of Kalinin.

By the way, there was two Kaliningrads in Russia. One was near Moscow, and most people was pleased when it was renamed to Korolev (in a memory of legendary space program leader and general constructor).

So name swap story looks funny now. Koenigsberg/Królewiec now Kaliningrad, and Kaliningrad (former Podlipki) now Korolev. ;)

It was the dream of Kant to live in a city called Kaliningrad.

BTW, returning to the thread; I have vague doubt that Russians will rush in EU (and Poland) after visa obstacles will be removed. Actually, the difference, here I mean wage rate, between qualified Russian and qualified European is unnoticeable. So, why Russians should go in poor Poland then?

1. Because it is not as poor as Russia

2. They can learn a bit about European culture

They seem like 2 perfectly good reasons to me. Learn about the country that you raped for all those years.

We're going to get flooded by Russians...

But when America doesn't open the border to Poles in fear of flooding, then we are called racist, etc.

Pedo-culture, you had intention to say?

Russia still hasn't even found true democracy yet, sth Poland established very quickly after breaking the grip of Soviet-imposed communism.

You know Seanus, it is quite surprising to hear about raping from you, whose ancestors had raped and mutilated so many people and nations in the past. May be you too should set out for visiting those places in order to learn something from your own history?

Bawww hawww.. you are the English henchmen throughout the centuries. Name one? Probably name one who wasn't complicit in killing "savages".

You can't name one either so I'd be quiet if I were you.

I know Seanus that you are from Scotlandia, but it is a part of GB, and that makes you somehow involved in all GB's misdeeds, though, I should admit, in a strange way.

And you are part of Asia so that somehow makes you responsible for all their bad deeds?

The captain at the Boston Massacre was Scottish. Goldfinch

Not at all, we bring them civilization! This is a difference between GB and Russia, Seanus. We always are ready to help. Poland is good evidence.

He was provoked as they said he hadn't settled a debt and he had. They threw all manner of things at him and there is no documented account of him, that I'm aware of anyway, where he commissions an attack and beats people.

Anyway, that's way back in 1770. Communism was 1946-1989.

Always ready to help? Many Poles are far from convinced of that.

Poland civilized Russia for over 1000 years, you had to steal our lands cuz you didn't have anything special in yours...

Surpassed? How about bypassing instead? Only thanks to Ukraine can you freely circulate your gas. Belarus was gonna put a stop to your gas reaching Europe. How about that? Dealing with dictators isn't very nice, is it?
ConstantineK 26 | 1,284
26 Jun 2010 #57
You should understand it clearly; we all are witnesses of how the new Russia is borning, borning new, but in old borders. And I am happy. All these "states" as Ukraine, belaruss will be swept away soon.

Swept away? Both have close ties to Russia so what do you mean? They were just doing business with Gazprom. CK, politics and business simply destroy relations.

we surpassed you in many ways

Is that a fact? Let's see - did you surpass us in education?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education_Index

...NO.

Maybe your GDP per capita is higher than Poland's?

cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/ 2004rank.html?countryName=Russia&countryCode=rs&regionCode=cas&ra nk=75#rs

...NOPE.

Or is the general standard of living in Russia higher than in Poland?

abc.net.au/news/stories/2004/07/15/1155013.htm

...NAAAAH.

Maybe you're more satisfied with your life at least?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satisfaction_with_Life_Index

...DOESN'T look like.

How about health service or average life expectancy? No? Looks like Niger, Senegal
or Gambia - all have lower HIV/AIDS adult prevalence rate than Russia (not to mention
Somalia, which is an AIDS-free country compared to Russia.)

cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/ 2155rank.html?countryName=Russia&countryCode=rs&regionCode=cas&ra nk=52 #rs

Oh, well - at least you have more muslims :-)

Religions:
Field info displayed for all countries in alpha order.
Russian Orthodox 15-20%, Muslim 10-15%, other Christian 2% (2006 est.)
note: estimates are of practicing worshipers

Almost as many as Russian Orthodox believers :-))))

cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/rs.html

So, here's a thought, Constantine, how about, instead of posting sh1t on Polish Forums,
you work overtime a little bit, to make your HIV infested country a better place to live in?

Just a thought :-)

I think Torq came with a little sting there, CK. Feelin the scorpion's lashing out?

Russia lags behind in many areas. Without mafia assistance, your government would have sunk. Or, at best, rigidly clinging to any available gas profits.
