Mr Michnik: shall I ask if he remembers you?

Does Michnik speak English, I doubt you'd understand his stuttering Polish, your broken Polish won't help him understand you either.

Politicians appointing judges -- horrors, how anti-democratic!

In this case, yes, because it's obvious that PiS wants direct single party control over the judiciary. There was a feature on tvn about checks and balances in these other countries that don't exist in PiS's rule-of-party-instead-of-law "reform" .

There would needed to be grounds

Indeed, 22 billion in lost VAT revenues during the PO/PSL regime. Poland could have built a dense motorway network with that money. BTW Morawiecki announced today that Poland has a 6 bln zł budget surplus for the first time. Yes, the Polish economy was in ruins after PO/PSL got done with it, but not now! What say ye Mayfixit? Any "clever"(?!) way of trying to explain that away?

direct single party control

You're not following developments. Appointing a judge will require 3/5 support meaning that no single party can appont a jdge without the aid of other parties.

The Polish pro-democracy vigils are happening right now around Poland, plenty of people out on the street, all very civilised and decent.

PO scum, not only invigilated opposition leaders and their families through ABW,but tried to force false statements on members of public against Blaszczak,in order to prosecute and blackmail him.

also,it was found that PO used ABW to invigilate 68 journalists....hows that for free press?

This is today's Polish pro-democracy protest in the centre of Warsaw. A crowd as far as the eye can see.

using security agencies

What do you think the PiS junta are doing right this minute...

I doubt that somehow. All the reports say they're seriously worried by the scale of opposition to their proposal, as well as the international response.

The protests this evening in Warsaw were huge, this week each one has been larger than the last. It could well be turning into a Warsaw Spring.

You are PRL through and through.

Groundless accusations thrown to the wind. It is the judicial reform is finally cleaning up the court system of PRL holdovers, including those who tried and sentenced anti-communist dissidents and Soldiairty acticists according to PZPR dictates. The shouters, screamers and rumpus raisers are defending the post-communist status quo.

Names, besides Piotrowicz. How on earth do you think that putting the court system under the direct control of a political party is a good idea? Beton!

Mr Michnik: shall I ask if he remembers you?

We're all dying to hear your arcane report. What did the Soviet agents' son and Stalinist murderer's brother have to say? Did you look up to find out what you were shouting, screaming and chanting? Any word on when PiS plan to withdraw the judicial reforms and reinstate the PRL-era commie judges they wanted to remove? Were you still sober by the time you crawled back home?

z. How on earth do you think that putting the court system under the direct control of a political party is a good idea?

cus every gov agency need to be under control of people.if not,its turn into pathology, oligarchy -like bs
since people cant control directly ,they have their representatives
who in turn forge political parties.who create government if they win election...simple.
see?

How on earth do you think that putting the court system under the direct control of a political party is a good idea?

Indeed. No party stays in power for long, and they may well find that their opponents will one day use it against the, In every way a bad idea,

under control of people.

Read up on the concept of parliamentary democracy and an independent judiciary.
