Should Poland pay for gas in rubles?

that Farage guy was the leader who led and won that Brexit

He wasn't, Boris Johnson was the leader of Leave. Farage tried to lead but had no mandate just an ego and a complicit press. All the promises made were untrue but let's look at the migration issue. People of colour in Britain are mostly British there is no sending them back to England. The fight was with Europe but to achieve a trading deal Johnson allowed EU nationals already in Britain to stay. The average leave voter concerned about brown people were led to believe or expected that all the "pakis" would be sent "home".

They were disappointed when it dawned on them that leaving the EU had no bearing on migration from outside Europe. The dog whistle politics worked for those who wished to destroy workers rights privatise the NHS and fluff Americans. It didn't work for the many left behind. Farage has a new party that is riding high in the polls because the English Labour Party is so incompetent (granted they inherited a disaster). Reform is starting to eat itself and will never form a government in the UK.

The one good thing that came out of Brexit is that governing by referenda had been shown to be the worst form of democracy ever.

Yeah...thanks....forgot about that Johnson guy!

....a new party that is riding high in the polls because the English Labour Party is so incompetent....

Exchange the names of the parties and that too is so familiar in most western countries.....

Still....something has to give.....some (big) changes are about to happen....that can't go on like this for much longer!

that governing by referenda had been shown to be the worst form of democracy ever.

So...not a fan of the swiss model, I gather.....

On the other hand.....failures stemming from a clear majority vote of the populace are somewhat more bearable for most than made by a party percieved as incompetent and quite stupid...so....

Maybe it's time for Poland to consider reopening its rich coal mines, as they could operate effectively if new technologies that reduce environmental impact are applied.

It's easier and cleaner to buy Russian gas provided it wouldn't be stolen.

@Ron2
It would cost too much. Poland's coal mines are too deep to be economically viable.

As I have said many times on PF.
Am I a clairvoyant?

Poland's coal mines are too deep to be economically viable.

That's not it, and doesn't pertain to all mines. Those stupid regulations are, in a way.
Feniks  1 | 1138

That's not it,

It's a good part of it as it's cheaper to import coal than to mine it.
Bobko  32 | 3352

as it's cheaper to import coal than to mine it.

Cheaper to import it from where?

In the past it was Russia (Kuzbass-origin).

Russia mines coal cheaper than even China can manage.

Ukraine also supplied coal in the past - but for obvious reasons that won't work anymore.

Kazakhstan was another partner.

-//-

Mining coal more expensively than Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan is.... kind of a given.

-//-

You must contrast the price of coal generated electricity to that of nuclear and gas-fired plants.

Poles live shorter lives due to air pollution caused largely by the use of coal and coke for heating.

Life expectancy in Russia is worse than in Poland.

Life expectancy in Russia is worse than in Poland.

What exactly is wrong with your brain?

Why did you post that?

If Russians die at 40, then it's okay for Poles to die at 42 - because they outlived Russians?

Is all your life done in reference to what happens in Russia?
mafketis  45 | 12191

If Russians die at 40,

That's generous... here are four that didn't make it to 20.... happy to die for the glory of the tsar....

You really are an idiot.... and for a while I thought you were that rare breed.... an intelligent Russian.
Not anymore, you are just as stupid and brainwashed as your countrymen.
Russians die at 40 to 45, Poles at 70 to 75.

Anyway, why have you not yet left America for your beloved Russia?I see that the Russophile Novichock has no plans to move to Russia soon either.....I wonder why?

Utter bollox..... it was never about skin colour but all about numbers.

The one good thing that came out of Brexit is that governing by referenda had been..

More utter bollox, we should adopt the Swiss formula and let the people vote rather than letting incompetent governments decide.

So...not a fan of the swiss model, I gather.....

Barney obviously is not, but I am.... Power to the People.... to quote John Lennon!

You got to be kidding me. The average knuckle dragging racist voted leave to remove the "pakis" that's how stupid they were. Not every leave voter was racist but every racist voted leave. The only leave voters I respect were the Irish republicans who wanted to damage Britain, they also hope Reform form the next British regime for similar reasons. Want the NHS privatised? Vote Reform...

Please show me how I didn't understand my own language......

I'm not here to school you but it is clear you lack comprehension skills

What a complete moron with absolutely no understanding of the very liberal British mentality!

Iron is correct, you don't have the capacity to understand what is before you.

With regard to brexit, immigration was the wedge policy used to get that rubbish over the line. Nothing to do with supposed liberal mentality. The good people of Stoke, for example have been shat on by Tories and Labour for too long and they lashed out egged on by grifters like Johnston and Farage. They used brown people to do it.

Yes it was.

They used brown people to do it.

Your racism card just doesn't work.In general Brits are not racist. But anti Islamic,probably......you are aiming your very weak pistol at the wrong targets.....but that is typical of a left wing, mentally challenged moron.

Firstly it's difficult to explain basic concepts to an idiot but I'll try.

What I typed is undeniably true. Immigration was used to achieve the Brexit result people wanted the comfort of the past. They wanted this because current policies were not working because the Tories launched an attack on communities in Britain that had social cohesion. That attack devastated them. The Blair government took the votes of these people but did nothing for them. The people felt abandoned yet had to pay tax and send their sons to war in Iraq and Afghanistan. A very similar thing happened in America that resulted in Trump.

Your inability to comprehend what is in front of you is not a badge of honour.

@mafketis
I never open any social media stuff so have no idea what is in the link.

There is nothing wrong with opposing immigration. Many people have exotic economic models that just won't fly. The point about Brexit is that it was a shot in both feet for no improvement on the migrant front.

Your "Explanation" was just vacuous words, worthy of your hero Keir Starmer....

Your inability to comprehend what is in front of you is not a badge of honour.

Your inability to express your opinions is a sign of stupidity.

At least the US is an Empire, and that is to be expected to some extent. While Britain's glory belongs to a distant past, they are desperately trying to latch themselves to the US ankle and exert their delusional global influence because some of them are still making a fortune, so they F over your average Brit hard, out of greed and because they look at them with contempt.

Since when????

The US has NEVER had an empire..... unlike The British.Remember, America was once part of that British Empire.

A lot of truth in that...

@Miloslaw
If you think I would consider an empty vessel like Starmer some kind of hero you really are deluded. I can't think of any British PM or any other European leader for that matter in the last fifty years I considered principled.
