Poland Parliament elections in October 2011

delphiandomine crowed

bye bye Kaczynski!

Probably not. Had PJN entered the parliament maybe yes, but as it is PiS remains in a strong second place and won't get rid of the duck (unless he goes off the Smolensk deep end again which he might well do).

Well - I'm only going on the realities - PiS are now very firmly stuck in opposition for 3 years with absolutely no elections in sight, and the mathematics means that PO could potentially have two different coalition partners. Then you have the speech just then - did you see the guys behind him? Those eyes said "sharpened knives in the morning".

A strong second place is still second place - will PiS really want to spend yet another 3 years in the wilderness?

there no alternative for PiS in Parliament.

Maybe not for Kaczynski-led PiS - but there are always alternatives in the Polish system.

A few observations after watching TVP1 channel footage from parties` headquarters.

SLD leader, Napieralski was completely stupefied by his party`s low results. Indeed, rightly so, it probably means the end of his leadership.

Jarosław Kaczyński strongly declared that his party will continue the fight and one day it will be a Victory Day for PiS!!

Palikot said he might support PO and PSL coalition in the future Parliament after some of his political program points are fullfilled. Namely- make more things legal, instead of illegal.

Tusk became sentimental, kissed his wife, said: I know that love is more important than power.

PSL leader Pawlak was satisfied and suggested he is waiting for PO`s first move.

He was on the verge of tears - I guess the result is probably what's left of the Communist support.

Jarosław Kaczyński strongly declared that his party will continue the fight and one day it will be a Victory Day for PiS!!

I think his time has gone, I really do - he got a very tame reception compared to even his 2010 speech in Radom.

What's interesting is that if this exit poll is right - for the first time, there's the mathematical possibility of abolishing KRUS.

What alternatives ?Marek Jurek ?come on :D

Where is a strong political entity able to gain confidence of patriotically minded voters?

"Patriotic" voters make up a small minority in Polish politics.

Iron, I respect your Polish patriotism. It is a great thing, indeed. If all Poles cared so much for Poland......

But please, understand, there are many shades of patriotism. For example, I think of myself as patriotic when I vote PO instead of PiS. I love this country and don`t want to see it ruled by PiS again. :):):):)

In case you reply that I am blind, you should know that I will answer: You, too.

So, please, don`t say I am blind or brainwashed. :):):):):)

at least 30% eh?
You didn't answered my question - what alternatives ?

I think of myself as patriotic when I voted PO instead of PiS.

Maybe you do or maybe you don't, doesn't matter.
I wasn't born yesterday and I know that PO is more harmful to Poland's national interest than PiS.

Thank you for abstaining from saying that I am blind or brainwashed. I appreciate it. :):):):):)

I am really sorry for you, you have to wait another 4 years........ :(::(:(:(:(

Observations cont>:

Kaczyński: One day or another, we shall win, because we are right. A day will come that Poland will be like another Budapest.

Added a rhyme: I hope that PO government will fight crisis, not PiS.

Hypocrite!

Another 4 years wasted, additional 300-400 billion of debt, no reforms, no reductions in administration, more and more recent emigrants never going to come back, Poles still with no opportunity for real domestic capital creation, still niggers of "foreign investors", PKP Cargo for Germans, Lotos for Russians, I wonder who's going to get PKO BP... Well, too bad for PO lemings, they will get hit hardest. I will be doing fine even If half of lemings will be starving.

there's the mathematical possibility of abolishing KRUS.

Don't make me laugh :))

BTW anyone knows if tranny made it ??

I am happy, but I hope that it would few few % more for PO and few % less for PiS and RP. I would be happy if PO could have majority alone, but PSL would not be that bad too (I found it ok over the last 4 years).

I voted PO and now I keep my fingers crossed for my candidate, no. 4 in the list in my voting region :)

Hey hey, na na, goodbye!

(I make no apologies for rubbing it in - I said I would, and I am - instead of talking about what ifs, let's talk about the here and now - PiS got beaten. Hahahaha)

Btw - PKW states we would have partial results (30% of votes counted) right after midnight so in 1-2 hours. I think I will have sleepless night today ;)

We will see how reliable are exit polls this year ;)

Poland party victory

I "love" it how Polish media report with satisfaction what the world says about Poland.

PO victory in parliamentary elections in Poland is a sign of maturity of democracy in Poland and standardization policy - emphasizes the "New York Times " . In a similar vein, the election results in Poland says " Le Figaro " , according to the French the campaign is proof that " corruption and anti-communist crusade out of fashion " . Virtually all foreign media emphasize that winning the PO has a historic dimension , because the first ruling party managed to stay in power .

According to ARD correspondent , Polish-German relations will remain at least as good as today , and probably even improve. Tusk and German Chancellor Angela Merkel well understood . They are also the engine of economic development in Europe - rated ARD journalist .

Poland wins

Pawiem narodów byłaś i papugą? (Norwid, a great Polish poet)

Never mind, peacock or parrot/parakeet.

The world breathed with relief.

Financial markets are expected to welcome the result, which points to four more years of relative political and economic stability in the European Union's largest eastern member state at a time of crisis in the euro zone. Poland was the only EU member state not to sink into recession during the 2008-09 global economic crisis.

I voted JKM's party, like always... 1.1%... unfortunately people are too stupid...

Hey hey, na na

Yeah... a great example of your "maturity", yes kido, let's spend 30 billion on TGV, the money and jobs will go to France, everyone including you will have to pay for it but who cares, you will save 60 minutes once a quarter aye !!!!!!!!1111111111 Really I'm starting to believe that "democracy" is ineed a messed up system when I read such bullshits.

Pawian: how do you feel about having over 50% of your money given to the state in various forms, as well as having tens of thousands zlotys of debt, taken in your name by the government?

LOL ! "The world" (Germans, French, Russians etc.) is happy as they will still have here their butt boy securing their interests. "Media" are playing on inferiority complex of the plebs... look, they say we did the right choice, loooooooook, the "west" says so... pathetic, with this attitude people here will always be white niggers.

Nope, quite the opposite. Polish people are wise and resistant to lunatics.

The Real Politics Union's programme included:

It generally favors reduced government spending, tax cuts and a flexible labour market.
Minimal government bureaucracy.
Protection of property rights.
The party wants waiver of income tax collection.
Promotion of privatization and reprivatization.
Demonopolization
Decentralization
Deregulation
Decommunization
It postulates a return of capital punishment for murderers.
It wanted to end conscription and to introduce a voluntary army.
Private health care and voluntary education.
The party is pro-life and thus opposes euthanasia and abortion.
It is against same-sex marriage and LGBT adoption.
Support for NATO and participation in free trade organizations.
Opposition to European Union.

Bold type - by pawian.

This is a victory for hope. It is a triumph of hope against discontent and pessimism.
It is a victory of personal courage over cowardice.
In this election the truth triumphed over dishonesty.
This one's for the the true believers, it is the sweetest one of all.

pawian reported

Tusk became sentimental, kissed his wife, said: I know that love is more important than power.

He tried for the lips, but .... denied!!!!! She turned her head at the last micro-second and gave him the cheek instead.

If I didn't know better I'd say he'd been friend-zoned by his own wife (who kept looking at him from the corner of her eyes as if she were totally freaked out).

What is going on in the Tusk marriage?

In other news, PiS can't hope for anything but second place in the current situation and they should know it. Delusions of winning are just that, delusions.

Secondly, I don't much like PO but while Tusk wasn't able to deliver the Irish miracle he can (rightly or wrongly, I'm not sure which) claim to have kept Poland out of the worst of the Europe/World financial crisis. Most voters realize that and don't want to jeapordize it with a loose cannon like the duck.

included:

And what's wrong with that ? Some things are too radical for average Joe but the general direction is definitely right. I'm not a naive kid like Deplphi, I'm not any follower of JKM and as a party they are not prepared to run this country right now but out of this **** we have in Polish politics this is by far the best choice for non-communist voters.

Polish sense of humour is really unique. :)

The election silence forbids any polls - fines up to 1 million zlotys.

So, Twitter, Facebook etc members used vegetable terminology to chat about elections. They talked about POry (leeks) which cost 32 zlotys (percent), PIStachios - 30.8 zlotys, Canabis (Palikot Party) - 11 zlotys, Red Tomatoes (SLD)-10, Clover (PSL) -9 etc etc.

Poles, I love you, no matter if you vote PO or PiS or Palikot, Stay as you feking are! :):):)

Strange. I have always been against communism (consciously - since 1981 - martial law) but it never came to my mind to vote Real Politics Union aka New Right. :):):):):)
