"It's too late for Germany" (but not for Poland)

The problems...are:
1) Migrants in Northern Europe

No, just migrants unwilling and/or unable to assimilate to Northwestern European norms....

2) Islamophobia

In other words, noticing who those in 1) are...

Third World development

In the short term development increases migration rather than decreases it.

The problems for the umpteenth time are:

Where are the verbs and the words that turn these headlines into problems?
Let me give you an example how my 7-year-old would be able to state what bugs her better than what you did.
She would say, "Grandpa, mom doesn't allow me to watch more TV than an hour a day."
Then, I would say, "If that's the case, come and visit us. You can watch TV all you want".
The above has both the problem stated clearly and a solution. The solution maybe unacceptable to mom, but that is where we start negotiating until both the kid and mom are happy.

See how simple things can be if you drop that terseness?

The refugees were there in any case. I.

Whoa. "refugees" ? Let's see the proof that migrants are actually "refugees" before trying to make grandiose speeches that Poland has an obligation to accept them.

Whoa. "refugees" ?

Even if they were "refugees", under the refugee rules, they are not allowed to country shop and must remain where they are safe first after leaving the danger zone.

The answer, Maf, is that those already considered unassimilable ought never have been allowed into the country in the first place.
I AM in favor of through background checks for ANY AND ALL new arrivals in the country....EVERY country, my own included:-)

As we know so very well, it's so easy and inexpensive to get a full background check of every useless garbage from Somalia or Nigeria.

Me too...but when the last years have shown something it's that this is just not possible. For a thorough backgroundcheck no german institution (or any other in the West) has the contacts availably in the home countries which would be needed to proof read every story.

Hell, they even lie about their age!

What a nice way to start the next chapter.
Our Latino scum does exactly the same thing. They are just little kids no matter how many murders they committed in the sh**hole they came from.

Later, the scum will get fake Social Security cards. But, to an average liberal moron, those are just sweet and nice people who come for a better life. And to vote democrat after they get California driver license.

"Latino scum" is merely venting, Rich. You can do a lot better than that, I'm sure!

I am sure you have a better way to describe the people who commit a crime on the first day by breaking in and entering the US illegally, Then, they obtain fake US documents, illegally. In fact, it's a felony.

Then, they go to work, illegally. Then, the apply for food stamp, illegally, Many commit crimes against American, illegally. When deported, they come back and do all kinds of bad things illegally again except that they are better at it because they figured out the system.

While here, they are offended by us playing our national anthem and displaying the flag. They are pissed off when the American kids recite the Pledge in our American schools. They boo when the anthem is played at the soccer matches involving Latinos.

Please give me a good, two-word way of referring to this human garbage nobody, including their own countries, wants. No sob stories, please.
Go. I am waiting.

I can tell ya one thing, buddy boy! Hate the offenders as we all do, I sure don't lump 'em all into one basket.

A meaningless, feel-good crap.
When was it last time you affirmatively expressed here your "hate" of the offenders, what they do and who they are? Yes, I know, you are a gentleman.

Hate is a cancer that destroys the spirit and the soul of man.

Try focusing on what Jesus said, "Hate the sin, but not the sinner."
Rich Mazur 4 | 3,053

I hate sinners. Without sinners there would no sin.
Jesus never had to deal with the s*** we have to. Neither did he work, paid taxes or was personally responsible for anything. He and his views irrelevant to me.

Jesus did say, however, something very smart: A man without an opinion is like a snake without tail.

I try to put myself into their shoes....I think I would try to survive too at all costs...if that would mean lying, stealing I would. Especially if I would have little ones, I would try EVERYTHING to give them a chance of a better life. There are things worse than death, keep on living in a hopeless nightmare is surely on of them.

Now I live their dream of a life...and I of course abhor their lying and stealing...but I can understand them.
What we have now is IMHO an unresolvable conflict.
I want to keep my good life and feel it is threatened because there are so many of THEM and we are so few. So many who will do everything, even criminal things to get some of what we take for granted.

I'm uncomfortable about the threat they pose, I'm extremely unhappy that there isn't a soon and easy solution for all of us...but I don't hate these people, that would be so hypocritical and useless, as we would do the same if we were in their shoes!

Let me help you with this dilemma. Use the country-home similarities and everything is so supremely clear and doubt-free.

In my post above I missed a word. It should be:
Without sinners there would be no sin.

Well...I'm a hobby historian, specializing in central european history...and I KNOW that there have been times people have looked at Germans with the same distaste and contempt...backwards have-nots...as our greatest exports had been uneducated and poor people.

Germans still were the same, back then as now....just not as lucky living in an orderly, wealthy, respected democracy...we just lucked out with our blessed birth in this country (or in any rich and free western country) in these times, but that doesn't mean we are in any way better!

Takin' the easy way out as usual, Rich ol' man! You and that little guy with the mustache ought to have teamed up, you couldn't lose:-)

Christ's eternal lesson for all of us was that it's when times are BAD that his teachings are most invaluable! It's a cinch to be loving when things are going great guns, but it's during the hard times that the meaning of "Love Thy Neighbor" is most significant, even it "love" really should be replaced by "respect"!!

This is what supposedly distinguishes out country from that of many others throughout history.
Bratwurst Boy 12 | 11,848

even it "love" really should be replaced by "respect"!!

...but what when they don't love/respect you back?

One big problem with so many newcomers from the african/arabic "macho"-cultures is that they see love/respect as weakness and react with contempt...a successfull integration is then nearly impossible.

What then?

Humans usually walk the path of least resistance. The Bible sadly offers no quick fixes to such a question!

I never thought the day would come when I would be a better German than you are. Just kidding...
Yes, it does mean that Germans are better. By a mile. And, no, it was not luck (other than the timing) that Germany is great today. It takes a collective determination, intelligence, and a devotion to the rules of law and decency to create a society like yours.

Let me give one example how I personally benefited from this. After the Warsaw Uprising was over, my "nana" and I ended up in a camp in Hamburg. When my mother got the news, she asked a German officer who was staying with her mother in Radom to get her the necessary travel documents . He did and with it and cigarettes as a bribe, she went to Hamburg and got me out. On her way back to Warsaw, she had to seek shelter along with other German women and their kids during a raid by the Allies. Once inside, she was treated as one of them to food and diapers, with her obviously lame command of German as a clear proof that she was a foreigner and "hostile" one on top of that.

My point is that you can give Germany a lot more credit and still be factually correct.
Lyzko 45 | 9,438
17 Oct 2018 #1,224
One usually though thinks of Germany historically as a country which praised strength and authority, seeing kindness and the like as "weakness"!
Times sure have changed:-)

This might have a double meaning here:-)

To be special = to be unique in greatness
To be special = to be slightly odd (..but expressed in a euphemistic way)

Times sure have changed:-)

It could very well be that to many of these hard-to-integrate newcomers makes more Germans fall back onto their old famous/infamous virtues.

A consequence most of these open-borders lefties for sure never calculated with....oh the irony!

To be special = to be unique in greatness
To be special = to be slightly odd

Definitely both...unique in greatness + slightly odd! :):):)
