Yes,if you noticed under the gentle Yeltsin the Russians failed to work and lost respect for government.

Exactly. Yeltsin was the only Russian ruler who tried to introduce some elements of real democracy into Russia. His aim failed, and till today Russians deem democracy as a harmful system for their country.

In this land the ruler has to use the whip.

Yes, but isn`t it fascinating to try to understand what makes Russian people desire this whip so much??? :):):) And other typical Russian traits are also attractive - famous Russian soul, their fatalistic attitude to life, their drinking oneself to death, great music culture, etc etc etc

You see now Ukraine in how deep sh1t it is due to lack of a powerful leader.

I don`t think so, maybe it is true in case of Eastern Ukrainians who spent the last 300 years under Russian rule, they feel and think Russian.

But Western Ukrainians, who were dominated by Poland once, are more independent thinkers and doers.

But Western Ukrainians, who were dominated by Poland once, are more independent thinkers and doers.

The only thing I heard in western Ukraine is ''when will have a good president to solve our problems?'' so much for their independance. In these countries people expect everything from the president and ask what the president does while in Greece for example people ask what do I do? and nobody cares about the president.

what makes Russian people desire this whip so much??? :

They behave like bears sometimes. They need to feel the force to do sth otherwise they don't respect the leader.

and till today Russians deem democracy as a harmful system for their country.

Yes,democracy meant sh1tocracy for most Russians. The system failed blatantly.

amous Russian soul, their fatalistic attitude to life, their drinking oneself to death, great music culture, etc etc etc

Poles have also parts of these elements, the superstitions etc.

it made me join a Russian forum a few years ago

Give us the link to the forum, Pawian.

I might register there and wreak some havoc in my spare time - should be fun ;-)

Away ? We will be moving closer and closer to Moscow, like in the old times.

You should change your avatar, Grzegorz! How about...

WHEN did Poland SURRENDER to Russia?

All points are good for Poland. Just don't tell me that brave Poland fighted grimly for independance but was vanquished by Russia. So, you can count the train of surrenderings since 1792 if you want; but there was deuge before or Carl XII incursion, though these were Russian's accomplishments only in part.

I can hardly imagine something better for you - as a medium sized nation of 140 millions you are not in position to control the huge area from Moscow to Vladivostok.

You know that it is not a matter of figures, the more you have the more you should protect. The main question is martial bravery and that is not a matter of comparisson between Chinees and Russians. It will be sufficient to remember their "valour" during civil war and Japaneese intervention. Should I help you to remember that it was SU who helped them to rid off Japan?

By third world economy, I mean that Russia's economy is almost entirely based on digging up natural resources like is the case for many third world countries.

But what is wrong with this? Many countries have raw material oriented economical systems - Australia, Canada, Norway, USA (partially), Brazil, South Africa etc. Why you accuse only Russia? Crisis showed us all lacks of western economy, for, I think it is better to produce raw materials and commodities than financial derivatives as USA do it. Do you know any huge Norwegian companies? I can give you a couple of them, only because it is in my professional sphere. It is Yara and NorskHydro. What they produce? Mainly it is fertilizers and oil, i.e. the same raw materials! We have dozens such companies here, one Gazprom five or ten times bigger than NorskHydro.

So, what are you saying about third world? Where is Polan with her soap powders and fizzy waters?

Unfortunately, yes. You are one of those few Russians who seem to be fascinated/attracted by Polishness, remaining deeply suspicious about it at the same time. That makes you hang around Polish forums.

I should admit that you are right! Excepting the fact of my ignorance of Polish language which mourfully reduces my presence on Polish forums to minimum.

I also hate one thing in Russians, I mean this famous Russian desire to be subdued by a master, lord, a "good tsar", "batushka", who is believed to be able to defend Russian peoples. I cannot bear with patience their blind and stupid habit to let themselves be governed by the most brutal rascals available in Russia.

This question should be investigated apart, I could explain you the our habits and customst and where they come from, with more details.

what is wrong is that these companies will disappear once the ore or oil they dig is gone. They are not creating value, they are just exploiting what is already there..Re companies, comparing Russia with Norway, a country 30 times smaller by population is hardly justified.. I don't either know a large company from San Marino or Monaco, do you? Sticking to the countries you mention, South Africa has SabMiller the brewer, Canada Bombardier the train/tram makers, Brazil has Embraer the plane maker. Where is Russia technologically speaking? What happened to its once powerful airplane industry? It all went down the drain..

It is useless now. After the ferment I caused there with my 3000 posts, true Russians left the forum and only Russia- fascinated Americans remained. :):):):)

You don`t have to explain anything. I know the reason very well. Russians prefer strong leaders, even rascals, who, trampling on people`s rights, keep Russia in one piece. You fear that without a strong leader your country will fall apart. That is why Russians accept the rule of the whip for the sake of keeping the unity of the country. Russians are patriots - they wouldn`t like to see the disintegration of Russia and are able to sacrifice their own personal liberties for that.

fighted grimly for independance but was vanquished by Russia.

Yes you wish that, last time I checked it was Prussia-Austria-Russia
I dream that it was solely Russia :)

So, you can count the train of surrenderings since 1792 if you want

Then how come Poland regained it's independence in 1918 and later on in 1989?

If it would surrendered it would have given on a plate...
Wich I remember didn't get...

To be submissive or resigned; to yield without murmuring.

I can't remember that the Polish people didn't murmur :p

I agree Russia had control of some parts of Poland (later Soviet Union the whole) but that Poland was submitted? Hardly think so!

Because Russia's common citizens are undereducated and living in poverty. The whole nation decides about it's "lords" and besides Moscow theres poverty and poor education so most of the votes come from plebs with "slave-mindset". Medieval times are still present in Russia.

a lot of truth in your words. Still, Russia is Russia, Poland is Poland. You know that pane brate NocyMrok?

Let me ask you something. Why would Poland (when say Poland in this case i point on official Poland and all layers of Polish society, plus Polish diaspora)... so, why would Poland live in eternal state of critics on Russia, while at the same time don`t doing anything to change its own situation? Where is self-criticism? self-analyzes?

Poland is in anti-logic alliance. In alliance with countries which existence is opposite to Poland`s existence. In alliance with nations that are pathologically indoctrinated with hate on Poles and consider them inferior.

Oh, i understand necessity of EU and NATO on the short run (actually, Poland should already abandon NATO). But, on the long run, it would turn to be trap of assimilation of Slavic Poland. When critical mass of population (in Poland and abroad) become something else and not Slavs, that would be `point of no return` for Poland.

So tell me, NocyMrok, why would you analyze Russia (no matter that are you good at it), at a time when Poland falling in oblivion? and its not Russia that pushing Poland in oblivion but, false friends of Poland and Poles themselves choosing that. Sure, from time to time, Poles complaint on EU (this and that), complaint on NATO, still have solidarity with tragedies of other Slavs, etc. But still, all in all, no matter being aware that time works against Poland, Poles don`t doing anything decisive to change situation. and `point of no return` is closer and closer.

What I posted was just an observation nothing close to an analysis. I do observe Poland and can see things I don't like. It's just this time I have posted about the other country. I have nothing against Russian people but on the other hand I hate the Russian government as it's a personalised evil on this Earth (from my Polish perspective).

i understand but again, neither you, neither Poland, neither me, nor Polish Slavs, nor Slavs in general, don`t have anything from my understanding of you. So, i am full of understanding but, if something don`t change very soon, in 100 years or less or some more years, Slavic Poland won`t exist. Probably sooner then later, ironically, if Russia collapse. That due to other factors that aren`t related to the good or bad Polish-Russian relations.

What i want to tell you, i believe that new Commonwealth around Poland, as Pilsudski suggested its restitution, cease to be just a dream. It became necessity.

It's actually one of my dreams. Poland will be the leader. History happens in a complete circles.
